Just thought is run this idea of a pre veg system by a few of the UC pros on this site!. Its a complete flood and drain system. Do you think the 24 site module would fit 24 of the CC net pots??. My thinking is its easy to set up and the flood and drain aspect would draw the roots out nicely for transplant. Would there be any problems of stalling due to this fact???

All comments welcome, Cheers in advance. link below

I think you'd be better off making or buying some kind of DWC pre veg system... Some people make them in 4x4 trays and cut holes in the top for the net pots...I myself built my pre veg system out of a 42"x22" underbed storage container that i light proofed and cut a few slats out of foam insulation that support the bet pots... It's easier to get the pots out this way without damaging the roots...

I run them for about 7-10 days in the preveg and then 7-10 days veg in the UC.. However if u got a 4x4 tray you could veg them much longer in it.. Here's a few shots of mine

Here is my pre veg system.
4x4 flood and drain. Flood time set 15 min/15 min. Canna line.
I took hard insulating panel and cut to size a fit 20 8 in undercurrent net pots in it.

....the best thing about this setup is that there is a 1 in gap between the net pots and the flood tray which lets the roots grow thru the bottom with no restrictions.

Good luck with that. It is very difficult to veg in the UC with small plants. They are soooo sensitive. But go for it. Post some pictures of the progress.

Personally I would love to see the inside of your bubble tray, if its not to much to ask. If its proprietary, I understand -Keepz

I put rooted cuttings in 4" square cups and into an ebb n flood table for 2 weeks. These get transplanted into 8" netpot bucket lids and into a bigger food table. 2 weeks later, they get moved into a full on RDWC, still in my veg tent.

After 2 weeks in the veg rdwc, they get moved into their very own bloom zone, where they DON'T EVER SPEND A DAY VEGGING AGAIN. Why did I shoot it? Because your bloom area is the most expensive real estate for gardening in your whole op- and the more sophisticated it is, the more that's true.

It's a productivity DISASTER to veg in your blooming area! Every day they sit there not blooming, it's costing you money.

To correctly answer the OP's question, I like the tray you mentioned- but I like basic ebb n flood tables better, due to their flexibility in accepting changes to your growing style.

I do the same except I spread the foam a bit more and use my lids from the get go. Then I never need to worry about sliding roots through later and the lids help block light. Nice job man..
