Preferred indoor pot size for promix

Curious your preferred indoor pot size with promix hp. I’m in 7s now and wondering if it’s a waste since my veg times are normally 3-5 weeks (5 is absolute max and aim for 3-4) fabric pots don’t worry about root bound ect so curious if the extra size really does help yield (the whole bigger the root, fruit thing)

I use number 3 nursery pots. With 5-6 weeks veg under t-5 fluorescents i did not get better yield with number 5’s. Just used more water and soil for the same results.

That’s what I’m trying to figure out. I started with 5s in coco and went up to 7s... I know veg time is only REAL thing that will dramatically change yields but was told you should get a little more if I went up to a 7 from 5 or to 10 from 7.... I’m just feeling like id be better off with I think 5s as they dry out quicker and can feed a lot more often. But then I could also amend the HP with extra perlite to help air flow and such. I have 6bales so I’m not running out anytime soon but something I want to figure out for sure lol specially with next grow starting in a few weeks. But 100% this veg will be 3 weeks only (I’ll be getting good size clones tho 2ft or so see pics) so that’s why I went up to 7 and was thinking about it this round too. Help give them a little extra wiggle room.

Yeah those are gonna take off fast. I would likely transplant those to 3’s and then in a couple of weeks 7’s if i had the room. I grow with lower ceilings. And i was talking 6 weeks from seed sprout. So really a 4 week veg. Cup to 1 gallon to 3 gallon.

so many variables. Just have to figure the right tools for the job.

Plus a plant can get huge in 3 gallons of potting soil. (I guess with the tapered pot its really 2.4 gallons)

yes. The plants are trained to be under 3’x3’x3’ over the pots. Under 2 600w hps in blockbuster hoods.

IMO Pot size doesn't matter as much with liquid nutrients. If you are relying on living soil to provide all the nutrition then you want some extra soil.

I think one day I want to do a full living soil run. Hopefully I get the chance lol
