Man i guess you to a age where you reminisce back to your younger days..new to Cannabis..that one strain that layed foundation...that one smoke that almost had the mysticism to it. A time when indoor growing was a myth..a story...a thought..and all we knew was outdoor landraces. We always knew their were these renegade's doing this. Out of one of those room came a strain..a strain that dominated the South African underground market. Something where you did not know anything better than a matchbox of Dagga "weed" so you needed reference. Someting were if you give a stranger R150 +-($10) where you are normally paying R50 ($3).For a gram of something that the only way you can justify it with your limited knowledge of real weed would be able to accept by just smelling it. Well that my friends is Cheese..not just any cheese a Legend on its own. Grown through many communities and secret underground growers in Cape Town, South Africa. The Story is the cheese cut arrived in Cape Town somewhere close to 1996. It became a staple before we knew what cannabis was before knew the gelato's and candy strains. All we had was old School funk. Stinky dense swollen calyx cheese.

Well that was the strain for me and after 17 years of growing and learning i finally got my hand on two cuts from the keepers themself.

And i decided a small home breeding and preservation project was in order.

Welcome to my experiment

A while back i got my hands on two Orginal Cape Town cheese clones.
I decided to embark on a journey to try and preserve the orginal by reversing the one clone.
I got myself some STS Reversa Privada and flipped the one clone about 14 days earlier. I starting spraying her every 4 days about two weeks before i flipped her.
On day 10 she started showing pistils and by day 14 she was in flower. I then proceeded to add the other Cheese clone. The other cheese clone is now on day 14 and she started flowering too. I opened the breeding space this morning and BAM....I see balls!
My breeding space is small but very effective. My setup is
120w Lucias LED
5L pots
organic soil mix
Running Umya flowering powder mix feeding once a week and subplimenting with kelp,Humic Acid and Fish mix every now and then.
Some notes i can make.
The sprayed female did not really stretch at all comparing too the other female that has some legs on her. She started showing rustic spots early in spraying but it settled later as flowering was properly induced.
My breeding space is small 1m x 1m x 1m well ventelated space with a mini fan and temps at 26° and lights off at 21°.
Humidity sitting steady at 35-45%.
Its amazing how strong this plants smells of musky sweet cheese so early in flowering. When working with her to take these pics i wanted to lick my fingers from just the amazing smell

Thank you @Bigalmoby. Its one of those bucket list ticks for me. Got some tricks up my sleeve for what is coming next

This morning i picked up that is she yellow out a bit. I am thinking of adding some extra N and calmag as she has always been calmag thirsty. I recon her producing seeds the extra bit of Nitrogen can really help. Will send a update when lights go on.

We got balls boys! They're really starting now especially on the lower branches of the plant. Really learning some intresting things about how this breeding thing works. Would think the tops would have more seeing they are bigger but thats not the case.
The they/them and the lady is really starting to smell now. Opening the breeding space is like smelling a sweet fruity wet towel🤣🤣
