Just picked up a 4x8 tent from amazon I'm going to be running with 2 600 watt air-cooled hoods and a 6inch 400cfm fan to cool them down. I found someone local I can buy clones from so I'm thinking of running a total of 10 plants starting in one-gallon pots jumping to five gallons when in flower. I've already bought most of the stuff including the fox farm trio (soil) and sledgehammer for the flush. when I went to the grow store yesterday the guy suggested instead of getting FFOF I should try mixing Promix BX with Roots 707 and ph around 6.0, so that's what I got. This is my first grow and I'm not sure if I'm going in the right direction in terms of growing media. Will adding roots make the Promix hot? or should I feed right away like I was told at the store? and will the FF soil trio still be acceptable to use with this media? Do I add CalMag like in coco based grows? and would i have to water the same amount and same runoff as in soil? Any help is much appreciated...

The soils you listed aren't coco. If there is no coco then don't add Cal mag, unless you have one of those deficiencies. IMO air cooled 600s are inferior when it comes to PAR with your plants. Not meant to be cooled, I would run at full heat and find a different cooling method like a portable AC or something similar. Also 10 plants in 4x8? Does not sound kosher for a first grow, I would monocrop the first one with 5 or 6 plants at most in that space for your first time. 10 plants would make that a very crowded place unless you already know what your doing.

Appreciate the advice. Thinking of it now I might scale back to 8 plants at most. Does monocropping just mean running one strain on the same cycle? I was originally going to Top then scrog and lollipop them
