How much water should a 3 foot full grown plant get? Compared to a 5 foot full grown plant? My leaves are yellow despite nutrients, i checked over and under watering the leaves showed yellow on the site, ive been putting like a bottle per day in, so lastnight I put 4 liters in to see what it would do, but a list of proper liters per plant size by foot would be excellent, thank you

I'm interested in this question too. I will add my $0.02 to the pile while I am at it.

From what I understand watering volume and watering frequency will vary depending on your medium, your pot size, and the plant size.
If you are using a soilless medium that is fast draining with small pots, you will have to water a small volume more frequently.
If you are using a soil based medium with high water retention in large pots, you will want to water a large volume less frequently.

For what it's worth I have been watering 1 gallon per day in 2 applications for my 3 foot tall plants in 5 gallon pots with 75% coco coir and 25% perlite. I am using dry amendments so I am trying not to water to run off, but I have also been told this is not enough water.

How big are your pots if your plants are in pots, and what medium are you growing in?

Sounds like your overwatering, I water my plants only when they need it,probably twice a week indoors. Outdoors almost every day. Let your plant wilt before you water it,that will tell you when it needs watering. Every plant is different, good luck.

Very good point on location, when my plants were indoors they didn't need as much water because the environment was a bit more favourable. Now that the plants are outdoors I have to water everyday sometimes more than twice a day when the weather gets really hot.

I always heard"let the plant tell you what it needs" and thought it was bs....turned out it is valid advice!

Yellow leaves can b caused by under watering..it can even look like nutrient burn def caused by bad watering practices..i give mine 8-9 litres a day outdoors but depends on the temp at the time..to guage how much water they need buy a moisture meter ..dont let them wilt..if it dries out too much the soil can come resistant.moisture meters bout 10-15 bucks

Whatever you do, don't wait until they wilt....that's bad advice. In soil, if you let the plants dry until they wilt, you will kill off all your good bacteria in the soil that the plants needs, desperately........it's counter productive.

You also cause stress on the plant and that slows growth down, and will overall effect yield.
