I apologise right now for the length of my post.
So, just to give you an idea of what I'm doing. We have a large-ish outbuilding that used to be an office, I have no idea about the size of this building to be honest, but the ceiling is probably 10-feet high. I decided to block off a corner of the room to do my grow. Just to say, the previous tenant before us was using this building to grow weed and he left behind cut up pieces of a grow tent, so I took those pieces and used them to block off this corner area as my grow space. Anyway, I currently have 5 plants that are doing really well, and I also have 6 seedlings that are looking good. I am hoping to grow them both together and even though the "seedlings" might not get to be the same size, that's okay. Someone commented that 11 plants in my space, which is about 4-foot wide by 5-feet deep, might not be big enough. I'm not sure. Once I get my final fabric pots, I can put them in place and see how much space they will take up. I've got 2 lights in there now, and if they aren't enough, I will get another, but that's not the issue for now.
So, what I'm posting about is this. I've heard that I need to provide CO2 for my plants. I've read about CO2 packets, but seeing that this building is quite large and I cannot completely enclose my plants, I'm not sure how I can provide enough CO2. Is CO2 really something I will need? The building has all the windows blocked out, so the entire building, not just my growing space, is completely dark when the lights are off, even in daytime. The reason I'm asking is because I'm thinking if I need a bit more space, I can move things out a bit, that's not really an issue. I have the whole building. But I'm worried that I won't be able to provide enough CO2, and I really can't afford to spend too much more than what I've already spent.
I'm sorry to ramble, it's just that while I've got a good green thumb with normal plants, I feel a bit overwhelmed with all the information that websites, YouTube videos and others say I need for a successful grow. I've got too much invested at this point to give up, but I am hoping I can make it work with what I have.
Any thoughts?

You only need CO2 when you are pushing the plants beyond limits. is is the short answer. The long answer comprises of if’s and but’s.

This is about 6.5” by 7” 5 - 7 gallon bags. If you need perspective of space and plants. It depends on how long you veg for though ultimately. This is 11 weeks veg on some clones. Seeded this would be roughly 4-5 weeks veg. Again it depends on how you grow it too. Not just how many and how much space. But everything comes together to equal end result size.

You don't need CO2 enrichment unless your pushing very high light levels and have your environment, feed and watering on point. Just a gentle exchange of air in the grow environment and they will get plenty of CO2. And it's typical for new growers to way over populate there grows. Some figure it out,,,, some never do and stuff there grow space. Enjoy!!!

Thank you. I had a friend that grew a few years ago and I don't recall him using CO2. But I think I'm getting information overload (not on here, but other sources).

Thank you, this definitely gives some perspective. How many plants is in there? I am really sort of ambling along I think, but I'm hoping I can at least get something out of this, even if it's not perfect.

Thank you for your comment. The thing is, I suppose when I lost a couple plants, I decided I should have some more. I enjoy growing plants (not just weed) and I thought it would be fun. But I'm learning that I need to think ahead. Somehow I'll make it work (hopefully). Either way, I'll learn from this experience. I've seen other people grow. My first husband grew in our spare bedroom, but I didn't really pay attention. My neighbour grew and while I watched a bit more, he never really explained things to me. So this is me, and only me (except for what I read, advice from people on here, and watching YouTube videos) trying to find my way. It's exciting, but it's also a bit daunting. :)

Hey Art......hahahahaha......you've fallen for the love of the plant syndrome......it's catchy it is.....

KISS....you know the saying......

The main thing to look into is environmental factors.....

And watering/feeding.......

And airflow....

And......

Yeah, and just imagine when the plants really take off! I'm still in the early stages, haha.

Im not running any CO2 : )
Thanks, I was really worried that it was something I needed and I couldn't think how I'd do it, as the building is quite big and I can't seal my growing area. This is what I love about having other people to talk to, you get real information, not just something someone's written.
