Hey all today I moved my plans to 4 gal pots. I had then in 1 gal and they were very close to being bound up.
They look a little droopy. I was expecting them to perk up as i let then dry out an extra day before I transplanted. They were sucking up a lot of water in the 1 gal.
Should I have used nutrients when I transplanted? I just watered heavy with 6.0 ph.
I have some cal mag but I'm afraid to use it. Don't really know when to use it.
Anyways I'm hoping I didn't kill my plants. Here they are before I moved em.
This is my second grow 6 plants indoor soil. I have 12 cuttings I took from these 6 too that are a week in the dome now. When are those ready? Do I wait for root to show?
Thanks all

All good in tha neighborhood. I was concerned that I might lose my crop.

Can anyone help me out with a automated watering system? What are people doing with that ? I will have 18 plants to feed soon and so that is going to be a pain. Today I fill a 1 gallon container add nutes ph the water then bring it out to the grow area. 1 gal every day isn't bad but now I moved to 4 gal pots and I used 2 gals each to wet them in.I use my superwater which is from a whole house water filtering system which strips out chlorine and the other hard minerals and crap.

Anyhow just looking for some ideas

I would throw the automated watering idea out the window. You'll spend far less time manually watering. A professional system will cost ridiculously and a homemade one will be more of a headache and may kill a few crops before you get it right. Cons outweigh the pros there. My opinion never take 1 mans word. Someone here might have better ideas though so check back.

Thanks. What about a larger holding tank. Is it a good idea to store water like in a 35 gal can and feed from there?

You could use a plastic garbage can with a aggressive bubbler in it and clean it out about once a week. Kind of like a hydroponic Reservoir. Might be easier that way just an idea.

Check out Blumat automatic watering devices.
The ceramic part gets stuck in the soil and responds to low water by letting water drip until it no longer feels dry.
Only works for clean water, and a filter is required for long term function.

As to cuttings, I always transplant as soon as I see roots.

Here's my watering system.
27 gal tote(7$ Costco yellow top)
1 250 gph pump for circulation(10$ @ harbor freight)
1 larger pump (mine is like 650 gph for a 4x4) (50$-100$ most expensive item)
1/4 inch tubing (10$ 100ft)
Drip manifold with amount of ports as plants (9 plants 9 port manifold. You can use more than one if need be)
Pvc fittings and connectors and glue (10$ total)

If interested let me know. It was not a pain in the ass to dial in. Make all your 1/4" line the same length whether plans are 1' away or 10' away. This allows for even distribution.
The first few waterings watch and find it how lon g to get the run off you want. Have the feed pump on a timer and set it according to what you want. If you have a timer for the circulation pump run it for 15 min every couple hours or so. Maybe more maybe less. Just make sure it's circulated
Here's some pics of mine. Super simple easy and cheap.

Keep in line I am running DTW in Coco

Do you add nutes to your Reservoir? How long can you go without cleaning it out?

Yea that pic was taken when testing it out. I add my normal nutes. Temps stay low but I'm thinking about starting to run some hydrogaurd just as a safety measure.
I change once a week (only because it isn't a hassle how I have it set up. Manifold comes off and I can take tote outside very easily. A lot of dtw only clean when they switch to flower nutes) and I top off with 5 gal jug if I need to before changeout and at nutes according to 5 gal. Ph doesn't fluctuate and ppm stays same as well

I add only in 5 gal increments to make adding nutes easy. I add 15 gal to start then if I add I only 5 gal at a time. I won't put half a jug or eyeball it because t makes adding up nutes difficult.
