so I have been through a few times and have the impression rapid rooters are best to clone. I've had adequate success with Rockwool and with clay media used in a clone bucket with 2" nets and a constant running pump with sprinkler attachment.

Has anyone had any luck with rapid rooter plugs in a clone bucket setup? Would they be best in a tray without a constant sprinkler of water?

I am concerned with the actual material of the rooter deteriorating / mold growth from it retaining too much water.

Apologies if this is covered - I've done some research but not found anything specific to using these in combination for cloning. I'm not exactly new to this just new to posting.

It will wrk fine.i do it straight to dwc all the time.

I think I posted this in another thread, but:
I use rapid rooters to clone. I find the pre-made hole on top to be too big so I trim the flaired top with scissors, flip them over, and crate a new hole in the bottom.

I clone in a holder tray with a dome, keeping the humidity high. I water the rooter plug once a day. when I see solid roots coming out (usually after 7 to 10 days), I place them directly into my RDWC system about half way deep into the net pots and cover with hydroton.

I then hand water for a week or so until I see solid roots coming out of the net pots and in the bucket water.... that's about it...

I use to do the cloners n had ok results.just shaves a wk off going straight in pellet/clay pellets.i only do 1 layer of stone(literaly cover bottom lightly)throw pellet in there....no top feeding or any of that.5-9days roots below cups.

Man thanks for the insight. Thank you.

So you'd recommend no top feeding for the fresh cuttings ? ive previously used too feed drip off a manifold but never had consistent results. Some lines always performed better than others providing inconsistent new growth.

Sounds like hand watering daily might be the way to go until roots hit the water ?..

to each is own..im not saying its the wrong way.i just dnt wanna b bothered by top feeding if idh to.just a step i can cut out so y not?there only 3days old or id show u roots.
