Hi. Growing an arjans haze #3. Been flowering for 50 days now going into week 8. Going on the ratio of brown trichomes to white it’s sitting on almost 70/30 at the moment Indicating it should be ready to harvest but it’s still 2 weeks early. Do I leave it longer risking all the trichomes to turn brown and possibly screw it up or harvest her now even tho it’s 2 weeks early for a haze?

Nice looking plant! Are you talking about trichomes or pistils?

You observe trichome through a lens like a jewels loupe. Those are what you watch as they turn from clear to milky to amber to determine if they are ready.
The pistoles are turning brown which means the plant is starting to finish. It’s a time where you might start looking at the trichomes through magnifying them.
If you need to determine when to harvest without a magnifying tool, I would wait for more of those pistoles to die back. Looking good.

Thanks man! Appreciate the info and Defos helped in understanding it a lil better. I’ve got a 40x loupe but it’s a lil difficult to magnify the bud enough to get a good look at the trichomes. Gona look into getting one that magnifies it a lil more .

You’re welcome . A 40 x loupe should work fine. Don’t touch the buds as you look, but hold over buds a couple inches and move your eye down toward the loupe until you achieve focus.
Just eyeballing, I think the 2 more weeks is gonna be about right.
I like to harvest when about 5 % of the trichomes are turning amber.

Best 12 dollar investment I made for trichomes. 30× and 60× in one with LED lights. Took all the guess work out.

Sweet as. Yea I can just make out the trichomes and they’re mostly still pretty clear. Tiny tho with this loupe I’ve got but fairly confident in what you mentioned that there’s another 2-3weeks to go. Stoked I didn’t act on impulse and chop it down already!

I'd say that just glancing at it you have a couple of weeks or more. It's normal to see some fan leaves turning yellow late in flower, and you have none to speak of. I think you are just into the bud-fattening stage.

Yep, couple of weeks. If you cut now you'd be missing out on a couple very exciting weeks of fattening buds.
