i was in search of a cost effective root booster, settled on rhizo blast from botanicare, it was cheap and effective. How effective? my system is clogged with roots, never had this happen before(i use 2" pvc in between buckets). I modified current culture system with a rear control res and the pump is submersed instead of in-line, this was more practical since i dont run a filter on the line, makes it easier to clean. My rear bucket is completly empty and front main res is full, this not first time running system so everything is spec'd properly, just this run the roots went crazy.

Also switch from hydroguard to liquid orca but this run used both until the hydroguard ran out, so not ruling that out either

I was wondering if you were to fill the bottom of the container with clay pebbles. Would this prevent the roots from clogging the system? Just enough to cover drain and act as a filter. I was curious, as I am building a system myself and dont want to use 2-3in pipe.

I never had an issue pruning roots when I had to. I found in 5 gal with healthy grows with veggin 3.5 weeks i would have some roots in the piping but just enough left to keep the flow. This also maxed my room. If vegging longer root pruning may be something to look at and maybe some strainers on the output of each site.

Haha yeah I know the feeling. I did it by lifting everything and a huge pita. The only other solution I can think of is bigger sites and strainers on the outputs

Idk how well something like that would work, but I do know before building my DIY RWDWC, mainly inspired from Gary at PA Hydroponics, I was talking to him and basically he said anything below the 3" pipes he has seen get clogged by roots, which is why I went with the 3" over anything else. Just my opinion.
