So has anyone else rooted fan leaves? Just for fun I tried my hand at rooting 4 fan leaves and all four of them sprouted roots - took about 3 weeks for them to show. I transferred them to soil to today. Any idea if they will grow into plants or will they just stay as giant green fan leaves? Here's a pic of them prior to putting them into soil.

I can't imagine how they could possibly turn into plants. Interesting that they rooted though.

Well, you really need to let us know how this turns out. I'm not sure where anyone thinks this new growth is gonna come from, I'd love to see it work though. I just can't imagine how it could.

I know that there are other plants that work this way. So it might work for you. Keep this going so we can see the outcome.

I think that once rooted they're going to start pushing out a new apical meristem. That's my guess. If I'm right, I get the cookie. :D

Takes meristem cells to make roots too. If there was no nodal piece taken, then theoretically it can do nothing. Root or growth.

Interested to see as well!!

I bet if you keep them healthy they will regenerate to normalish growth.

Awesome.
