They haven't really changed in size, except the stem looks a little thicker and they look really healthy - huge fan leaves and green with five fingers.

Maybe it's just me but where are the roots? Looks like you just stuck em in some root powder. Pics or it didn't happen

I mean i believe they rooted, i have no faith they will become anything. The plant does have the ability to grow a new plant from any cells but this requires the right enzymatic environment to activate different portions of the genes.

Now maybe with the right agar somehow sealed around where the leaf meets the stem and maybe it might consider doing something

So has anyone else rooted fan leaves? Just for fun I tried my hand at rooting 4 fan leaves and all four of them sprouted roots - took about 3 weeks for them to show. I transferred them to soil to today. Any idea if they will grow into plants or will they just stay as giant green fan leaves? Here's a pic of them prior to putting them into soil.

Ok so here is the proof. First the four leaves tonight and then I took one out of a cup to show the roots. Based upon how good the roots look, I will probably transplant them tomorrow to one gallon pots and water two of them with regular and the other two I will water with water/coconut water as suggested by farmer (I bought a coconut today).

Ok, so I transplanted each fan leaf to a one gallon container. I filled each container half full of 707 and stirred in some mycorrhiza, wetted the soil and then placed the plant and filled in around the sides. Each leaf had a well formed root ball - they looked just like the one in my previous post.

Two leaf/plants were watered with regular water and the other two were watered with water that had some coconut water added to it. I wonder if I should spray the two leaves with coconut water as well. Would the cytokinins help from being on the surface of the plant or do they have to be absorbed by the roots?

I actually thought about that yesterday when I transplanted them. I think I will wait a couple of weeks to see it anything develops and give them a chance to develop more roots.

I might try flipping one after that.

ive seen it happen. My buddy gave a friend a clone ready to replant . He left it on a table while we went to start a pot for it. Got back and his dog was eating it. It looked totally regurgitated . All thta was left was a leaf so he planted it and it took off. He was so happy. Back in 02 most people paid ta least $350 for a rooted clone inless a patient then they were free. He juts put it in a pot of soil and watered it too. lol.
