Post picture.
I had this happen with fabric pots. The bottom stayed wet due to not paying attention. It started as a line of air pruned roots 3 inches from the bottom. 3 weeks from harvest the bottom 3 inches of roots had died. Did not figure it out until pulling dirt apart. 160 gram difference in wet trim from that mistake.

If it's fabric pots there's nothing to do they will prune themselves.

Probably better to post a pic of you want correct advice.

The white you see on some leaves is just the picture. That’s not really on plant.

They are on self watering bases. It’s time to clean them and change wicks so I’m worried that pulling them off bases will harm them. They are autos so I don’t want to stress them. Some people say don’t worry about it. Not sure if that’s accurate.

So mine are on self watering bases. Where yours too. If they are growing into the base would remove them from bases will harm and placing on ground hurt them? It will be only long enough to clean bases and change wicks. But if any roots get squished then that has to be bad. Other option is to not clean them but that’s not recommended either. Any thoughts?

Well all i can say is i've had autos roots grow thru fabric onto the riser i use under them and have lifted them up turned them or took them out to trim and saw no ill effects. Good luck with it.

Transplanting is not an option. They are autos that are in very early flower. Have you any experience with this situation?

Sorry stuff to do.

Anything that makes it out of the fabric pot is going to die or is dead. It is called air pruning.
If you have a big tap going through the bottom of the bag and into the fabric wick area it is fine. Random air pruning is fine. Just ensure it is not a line or circle around your pot.
Maintain your bases like you should.
Good luck nice grow.

You could take your hand and rub the pots and the root tips should breakoff. the idea of the fabric pots if to prune the tips of the roots when they touch O2 so the it creates many more root ends. Not sure if you have flipped the lights yet but you should ASAP and you need to prune out this tent.

You'll be fine pulling them off the bases to clean them and tend to the wicks. I know this first hand. I have used the AC infinity self watering bases in my greenhouse for several years.

Thanks for reply. I think that’s good advice. As far as pruning goes, these are autos and 90% of people say not to prune much. Also, last grow I tried to lollipop and they’d keep sprouting from below. I decided to just trim a couple bud shading leaves and let the plant do its thing. I’m doing this to see how much I really need/want to trim. Basically, just get an idea of where I’ll want to prune on next grow. From below I see that plenty of light is still getting through. This is my first auto grow and I have seeds for two more harvests. If I start seeing obvious light-craved lower growth then I will prune that. I’m taking the attitude that less is more this time. Hopefully I’ll find a happy medium. I appreciate your input and if you have more id love to hear it.

I never bothered. Eventually one of 2 things end up happening. 1) they air prune themselves 2) they end up growing into the wicking bases. If they grow into the bases, simply removing the plant from the base to clean out the roots and putting it back is usually enough to fix the issue.

I haven’t looked at bottom yet. I just noticed them popping out of the sides. Should I leave them alone or do like Glomus said and rub the sides to break them off. Right now what is coming out still looks healthy. Maybe wait til they start dying first?

@Glomus isn't wrong. It's just not necessary. It's simply not anything to worry about.
