So I had the bright idea of upgrading my 8 cob fixture from 1400mA to 2100mA. I replaced the single 400w 1400mA driver for 2 x Hlg 320 2100b drivers.

I hooked everything up and it is noticeably brighter and the cobs are running hot. Does anyone else run a similar setup?
The heat sinks are 140mm x 80mm
All the connections are solid. Just a little paranoid I'm going to melt something.

The plants are really digging it..

Hi. I have a room full at 2100. (it's hot) I've also used 1400. Seems like 1750 is perfect. Lol
Thanks for the reassurance. I think I may need a dimmer to tune them down a bit. Does anyone know which poteniometer to buy for the hlg 320? Never needed to dim before. lol

So I pulled a Mygiver last night in the grow room hooking up the 100k potentiometers with the light still hung in place and used a plants tomato cage as the soldering iron holder. It worked, wasn't quite as convenient as the work bench, but now they are dimmed to about 80-85%.

you should be fine with those heatsinks and 75w per cob.just keep some air flowing overhead and all will be golden.i have the same heatsinks running the 72v cree at 1050ma which is still 75w and it has been running 100% power for months,no problem.nice work tex, peace

Thanks six, that is what I wanted to hear. They are right by an oscillating fan and you can tell it helps.
