Hi everyone!
New member to this forum, I thought it would be nice to start sharing with you what’s going on over here :)

First off, a little bit about myself; I’m 33 and located in Belgium. I was more active on forums some years ago under the nicknames banjo or rhaco, before taking a step back because of personal and health issues. I’ve been recently looking for a nice place to chill out and share again, by reading you guys I found there is a really good vibe over here!
I’ve been growing for more than a decade now, mainly in coco DTW/Siroflex under 600-1000w HPS. Almost same nutes for all this time, which are canna coco A-B, ata xl and some mycorrhiza, running at 400 - 500ppm, PH 6.3.

This time I will test the Gavita pro 1700e led in flo (special thanks @sshz for his threads!) with a 5x5 tent, using clones with 2 gals fabric pots. Next to this I will keep a 1000w hps with a 8x4 tent used for mothers hunt, revegging the interesting pheno’s.
In veg I will stick with a 600w HPS.

So here are the genetics already involved, and upcoming ones;

Flo HPS:
  • Blue Chem F4 - FlowerPower
  • Kosher Kush (Fem) - DNA
  • Sour Diesel BX4 - Karma
  • Tire Fire - Archive
  • Heat Wave - Archive
  • Blueberry x Lavender (fem)
I will harvest the Kosher Kush and one Blue Chem tomorrow, I will take better pics of each at the same time.

Flo Led;
  • Road Dawg #1 - Karma
  • Road Dawg #2 - Karma
  • Black Cherry Pie F4 #1 - In House
  • Black Cherry Pie F4 #5 - In House
This is my first time with fabric pots; these are 2 gal and I'm hand watering them for now (I have two 200L tanks), next time I think I'll use 1 gal fabric pots and put back the siroflex irrigation system coupled with a cyclic timer.

Veg;
  • Black Rainbow - Masonrie
  • Commerce City Kush - Rare Dankness
  • Meow - Prolific Coast
  • Tropicanna Kush - Oni
  • Z3 - TerpHogz
  • Somango x Tahoe (fem) - Oaseeds
  • Gorilla Glue #4 BX - Elev8
  • Gorilla Glue #4 S1 - Dark Horse

Mothers:
  • Exodus Kush (fem) - DNA
  • Road dawg #1 & #2 - Karma
  • Black Cherry Pie F4 #1 & #5 - In House
  • Watermelon Zkittles - In House

I’ve just soaked in water 12x Mandelbrot’s Royal Kush and 12x IDGAF (Watermelon OG x Plum Wine (Flo x Dosidos)) from LIT Farms, and here are the genetics I will try to run before this summer;
  • Cherry Poppins (Cherry Pie x (Abusive OG x Tres Dawg)) - Grateful Garden
  • Rug Burn OG - Rare Dankness
  • Deedee (Sour Diesel BX3) - French Touch Seeds
  • Exodus Kush (fem) - DNA
  • Cherry #18 (fem) - DNA
  • Trilock (TK x Locktite) - Red eyed gen.
  • Chronic - Serious seeds
  • Jack Herrer x Rosetta Stone
  • Grease Monkey - Exotic Genetix

So feel free to grab a seat and comment, share your thoughts etc if you want to, I just hope you will enjoy all of this as much as I do!
Thanks for reading!

PS: Thanks to a friend I got some random pics from old grows from 2012 to 2015, really a nice surprise and getting back funny memories as I forgot 90% of these (I fell unconscious at home in 2013, broke my jaw and had a concussion.. resulting in permanent problems of concentration and memory loss. I’m not complaining at all tho, mainly thanks to my lovely wife who’s helping me a lot! (She wasn’t so kind on weed before we met, now she’s more than happy getting busy with the plants, talking to them etc as I do lol, it’s a true pleasure to see)

These were some Mango Haze and Mango Widow from Mr Nice, 12/12 direct from seeds in 2,4L pots, best vigor I've ever seen;

Hi there, here are the plants which have been harvested two days ago, at about 65 days of 12/12;

Blue Chem F4; nice surprise for this one, it has that distinctive berry fragrance in the background, very sweet and sugary, topped with the chem skunk funk adding some sharpness. Most of the other pheno's threw some nanners during the late flowering stage, this one hasn't.

Ayahuasca Purple - Barney's (Red River x Master Kush); another nice surprise as I didn't expect nothing at all from this freebie (my wife just liked the name and asked me to add it with the rest). It has indeed a lot of pink and red hues inside the buds, very pleasant to see, with a haschy/earthy//spicy/minty smell, quite complex:

Kosher Kush #1 and #2;
#1 has a very strong skunky (almost cheesy) smell with some kind of ripened pomelo twist, feels like to be punched in the face when you put your nose on it. Sticky as hell, it's nearly impossible to get busy with this one without wearing gloves, or you will end your day with a lot of unwanted stuffs glued on your hands lol:

#2 has a more subtil smell, not very flagrant, more spicy/earthy, maybe with some leather notes. Nice structure tho, buds are pretty dense:

Quite funny as I've grown several times the Kosher Kush from DNA but I've never found a true kush leaning pheno, most of them havin old school dutch fragrances.

And here is the little drying closet I've made the other day with some stuffs laying around;

Thanks!
Seb

Hi everyone!
Quick update from the led tent;

two days ago, before reorganizing a little bit the canopy;

One of the Road Dawg;

Yesterday, after bending a few branches;

and today;

Everything is coming along nicely, at this point I’m quite impressed with the Gavita, especially regarding the heat produced (less than my 600 HPS dimmed to 400w) and overall look of the plants.

Hi everyone!

Another quick update from the led tent; yesterday I decided yesterday to go harder with the defoliation, mainly on the Black Cherry Pie’s, we’ll see how they handle it!

The Road Dawg’s are at about 45 days since I flipped them to 12/12, they’re stacking buds really nicely and should be harvested at around 10weeks or so.

The Black Cherry Pie’s didn’t stretch as expected; they were at about 30’’ from the led when I flipped them, next time I will place them at 40-45´´ as I did with the Road Dawg’s.

Thanks for reading!

Hi everyone,

Update from the veg tent; last week I decided to transplant and flip everything that was in that tent. So there are;
  • Black Rainbow - Masonrie
  • Commerce City Kush - Rare Dankness
  • Meow - Prolific Coast
  • Tropicanna Kush - Oni
  • Z3 - TerpHogz

Now a few males have already been removed;

Update from the led tent; I had to place the plants about 1-2" further away from the led as the apex's started yellowing. I will start flushing the Road Dawg's in a week or so; bud size will be decent, but I'm especially curious to see how the low stuff on the plants will yield, as it seems definitely more dense/bigger that what i'm used to with the HPS;

Next to be chopped are Karma's Sour Diesel BX4;

I definitely need to find something that will make better pics than these..
Thanks for reading!

Hey RG420, thanks for stepping in and for your words!
It’s def possible that we used to chat in the past on other forums, I was more active back in the days.
Yes karma’s stuff is usually on point, last year I popped his Sour Josh and Road Dawg, but these SD BX4’s are taking the first place :)

Take care buddy!

Last Road Dawg 2 went down last night;

So far so good with the Gavita 1700e, size of each plant is what I would have got under the HPS 1000 (placed at about 40´´ from the led when flipped), buds are about the same size, a little bit more of resin production tho.

What was really impressive when trimming was the lower stuff; overall size is slightly bigger than with the HPS (more homogeneous bud production on the whole plant) nothing fluffy, even the suckers I forgot to remove. Not as dense as the rest of the plant of course, but definitely more « mellow/soft » buds than fluffy; I think this will impact the overall yield for sure.

More terps too; it gives the same background smell but with different (and more) hints that I didn’t get with the HPS. I hope it makes sens, smell is just more « rich » and slightly louder/danker.
Having the temps at max 72-74F all along helped for sure, which would have been a bit trickier with the HPS.

So nothing new that hasn’t already been said before, just giving my first feelings with these led :)
I usually get about 4-5 oz per plant of that size (9-10 plants per 5x5), these may yield a little bit more.

Thanks!
Seb

So seeds were dropped in water on Monday for 48h, then placed in tupperwares on a heat pad, set up at 28C.

Three days later, most of them are ready to be transplanted, with long taproot just like I want, next grow is looking good!

This said, Triangle Octane from Seed Junky is another story; so far only 5/13 sprouted, but I highly doubt they will be viable.

Thanks!
Seb
