Hello everyone.

I just finished up pulling down my 1st-ever Grow (well, in 40-something years lol), which wasn't so hot. I geared up for it before coming to these Forums, so I made a lot of ignorant mistakes. I got two jars of buds, and will know how it is once they've cured a month or so.

I have a very small Gro-tent, 2x2x4 feet. This time, I'm going to limit myself to ONE plant. A Purple Kush Autoflower. Supposed to grow a Max of 60 cm high, but I will be LST-ing all the way, to prevent it from going up into the lights (which happened on my first grow). Fox Farm Happy Frog soil in a 3-gallon gro-bag with two heaping TBSP of Dr. Earth's Organic Flower Girl soil additive, spread on top & turned-in, as per directions. A Bloom-Plus BP1000 1,000w LED light, about 15" above the (canopy lol). Set to run 20/4 all the way. 3 to 4 weeks from now, or whenever it begins to flower (whichever comes last), I will be alternating between two Fox Farm nutes: Tiger Bloom and Cultivation Nation (bloom), mixed 1/2 strength and every other watering. That about covers it.

Comments and advice are, of course, welcome. I'm still a Newbie. TY

Well here she is at 18 days. The only fertilizer I've used has been the one application (at planting) of Dr. Earth. She's thriving on that and the good Fox Farm Happy Frog soil. I do not wish to disturb her, or risk over-feeding at this time. Even the Backup Plant is going Nuts. I guess I'll have to Pot her in a Grow Bag. She deserves it, after all.

I'm going to begin Pruning her twice a week from the bottom...two opposing leaves at a time. Slowly.....and gently....I do not want her to even notice it......

OK here we are now, 24 days from the Tiny Seedling at the beginning of this thread. I have her tied-down somewhat. Probably didn't need to, but with this dang short tent I must be sure it's kept short. (Got a newer tent, bigger, for the next Grow). I'm tying it down GRADUALLY; don't want to snap the main (very Substantial) stem. Shooting for a nice, flat canopy.

Calyxes beginning to form. Happy Happy, Joy Joy. I still have not fertilized at all. I was reading that with Fox Farm Happy Frog soil, the soil provides everything the plant needs, through to harvest. Anyone Agree or Disagree with this? I stand ready to Micro-Dose it with Flowering nutrients (Tiger Bloom and Cultivation Nation), at about 1/4 strength - but I respect my Elders' opinions on the matter. Thought I'd run it past you more experienced growers, first. BTW: Purple Kush Autoflower. Age: 26 days from Pop.

Note the little Backup Plant, which I Topped two weeks ago. Looks a bit Rootbound...should I TP it into a 2-gallon bag? Give it a chance to max out? Input welcome. Hope everyone's doing OK.

Here we are on December 17. Despite my efforts to tie her down, my plant has entered The Reach. Apart from the one main COLA, I am happy with the buds I've got, so far. I am hoping that main COLA does not continue growing taller....we shall see.

I tried giving her 1/4 dose of Fox Farm Bloom nutrients ("Cultivation Nation"), and even that proved to be a bit too much. Had a couple of leaves Brown & Yellow on me, so I backed off on that - and switched to 1 Tablespoon of Unsulphured, Organic Molasses per gallon.

Here we are on December 17th 2020. My plant is in the "Reach" stage, which I hope does not last much longer. The main COLA rises high above the rest, despite my efforts at LST'ing. It should work out OK tho. No bugs, no disease....I gave it a 1/4 dose of Fox Farm liquid nutrients ("Cultivation Nation"), which immediate caused some discomfort....Yellow & Brown leaves....so I backed off on that, and am now feeding her with 1 Tablespoon of Unsulphured, Organic Molasses, in 1 Gallon of water.....every OTHER watering. This seems to agree. Huge number of Bud sites. I hope most develop.

I have chosen NOT to prune her yet. I only pick/cut off any dead leaves down near the bottom, where no light penetrates. The branches have become Firm and woody, like a pencil. Fingers crossed. Come on, Buds!

You don't need to wait a month to find out if it's good. If it's good, you can burn a fresh one and know right away. If it don't work now, waiting a month will only make bunk taste a little better.

I need a bigger, better light - right now, to assist with flowering. Got one on the way from Amazon. It's another flat Board, but with more deep Red diodes, a dimmer switch and increased Coverage rating (4x4 Veg, 3x3 Flowering, the one I am using now is only 1.5x1.5 Flowering :O ). Not the Best, but a pretty good stopgap measure, and only $105 bucks. I don't think the size of my Grow justifies a $350 light....but maybe I'll change my mind someday. Anyway, I want to protect this plant from underdevelopment. It looks good, so far. :)

Hi all. I got that light, and it is Luxurious to me. I'm sure it will greatly improve things, with more Red and IR spectrum for flowering, plus a Dimmer switch. It seems a Helluva Deal at $105., and though it's an exposed Quantum board, it's built like a tank, and really does run only Warm to the touch. Covers 4x4 Vegging, 3x3 Flowering. Installed that yesterday.

My question for today: My girl has only a few leaves in Distress. Mostly down low, and toward the Center of the plant (which I still have not pruned). Pic below. I am thinking: "Nitrogen deficiency? Potassium deficiency?"....or "Don't worry about it, there will be more"??? I gave it a weak shot of Tiger Bloom by FF and will use only plain water, for a few days. See what happens.
The buds are thickening nicely, and feel Firm to the (gentle) squeeze.

New Light: Green Go 1200w w/IR & Dimmer switch.

Distress

Not really concerned, as these were in Shade....but first sign of Distress. Input, anyone? Don't worry about it?

NOTE: Please do not be distracted by the pale (Yellow) plant on the bottom left. It is my Backup Plant, just an extra germinated seed I had no room for, nor the heart to discard. It now functions as a Test Plant, for fertilizer etc. - Despite its 6 inch pot, it now has four Leaders (I pruned off the rest) will VERY well-developed bud sites on it. I hope it survives the abuse I have subjected it to lol.
