Here we go again, armed with the knowledge of last year’s semi-success and this site! I’ve got four starters from my single 2021 plant, a herm. Will be much more diligent about sexing them this year. Plus, a surprise from way back in the garden. Could be from a flicked roach, or… a gift from the cannabis gods. It’s in the ground a couple weeks (MD, today 5/31).
Almost an entire pound from that germ plant lasted me all winter. This year I do better!
“FIMd” this monster last week and it’s still growing an inch a day at least. I really want to keep it around the height of my fence, 6ft. The mother plant (never FIMd until I topped it during flower) was 8ft plus.
Question: can I pinch it again, or should I wait until lower nodes fill out some?
If they are photos go to town…always a small grow back time just depends on your timing…autos are a different story- have patience and you’ll probably get some more advice.
The last of my initial grow in 2021. A damn fine herm.
This year we separate the sexes early, as in Catholic girls’ boarding school. I’m a mean nun with a ruler!
Go girl (I hope), go! One month in ground, FIMd twice, and she’s a solid 4’ with lots of interesting side growth. Unknown strain, believed to be a Hawaiian landrace. For that reason I’m staying with its own seed.
Single mother plant yielding almost a pound of trimmed bud in 2021. No wonder my favorite budtender said last time, “wow. You haven’t been in since forever.”
Yep.
8 weeks and 12 feet of Amazon female. Decided to let her go for the sky-just going to take a couple bottom branches and larger fan leaves off. I even “FIMd” it twice. Oh well. Novice grower along for the ride I guess!
12 weeks and she’s (?) looking good amongst her cleome friends.
I hit her twice with homemade Cal-Mag and will start weekly Tiger Bloom shortly.
That’s it. I topped it twice already. Let it go, or do it again to let the side growth fill in? Thanks all!
Update 8/22: two healthy females are prospering in tubs.
Help with this?
Shared a plant with a friend who is growing it outside, but has detected this odd coloration. Anything of concern? (We are both newb growers)
Thanks all!
Labor Day update: two remaining tubbed females flowering nicely now. Trimmed a bunch of fan leaves. Should be an interesting 6-8 weeks!

Early harvest on one plant that didn’t survive a transplant. Lots of larf buds, looking at two vintages here in MD this year. This one, and another at around 115 days in, which looks to be about perfect. Really cooling off nights now.
Temps here around DC dipping below 50 most evenings now. I think I’m all done here. To the shed with you! A couple of weeks hanging, then the cure!
Thanks all for the comments and posts this year. Growing has become my favorite hobby in retirement! Peace. Out.
Putting my 2nd year grow thread to bed, along with the crop in jars. Not too shabby. Bag seeds from 2021, three plants-one in ground and two in containers. Extreme rain events in September prompted an early harvest as I didn’t want to lose the crop to mold. Not sure what its origins are, other than Hawaii, but it is definitely a strong-leaning Indica, which is not my “cup of tea”. Next year I will purchase feminized seed, hopefully something like Jack Herer or Nurse Jackie. Have a good winter all-I’ll be lurking!
