Many moons ago, smoke was usually full of seeds. I recently purchased a few different varieties, including some pure Indica as well as hybrid strains. When the seeds came, they were all sort of small-ish. I know that Sativa seeds are usually pretty small, but I also remember the large striped seeds from Indica's that are 2-3X larger than what arrived from the seedbank. Do any other older members remember the size of the old school seeds compared to the stuff that comes out today? As long as they work, I'm fine with it, but every one of the seeds looks half the size of typical Indica or Indy hybrids?

I see the same thing. I just got some more seeds and to me they appear very small compared to seeds I have grown up seeing , not that I saw a whole lot of cannabis seeds growing up, in fact I didn't see enough.
Reminds me of when I got some tobacco seed from the states and they were tiny like small specs, but when I grew them in the location I was living at the time the seeds I harvested were several times larger than the originals. I used to love picking my tobacco leaves, the high buzz was unreal when the juices got through the skin. I am wondering how my seeds will turn out if I grew them under the conditions I grow them under as compared to the conditions they were grown under in their original environment.
A friend gave me some BC big bud seeds that he had produced and they were very small. I grew some of those out and produced seeds that were about twice the size.

Looking back, the difference might be in the way the buds were grown years ago. Usually the plants were allowed to fully finish flowering and the buds weren't fast cropped for the fastest turnaround, so maybe the buds used to be more mature years ago. I let mine go until just about all of the other leaves have dropped and I still get large seeds like always. I think it is the new way of growing plants and seeds, maybe.

I was recently gifted some old school mighty mite seeds that a local guy has been selectively inbreeding since the late 70's early 80's. They're a Himalayan Indica strain and the seeds are very big, and full of stripes. Twice the size of any seed I've purchased in the last 10-15 yrs. You're observation struck me as I thought the same thing. You dont see seeds that look like this much anymore.
