Afternoon everyone. I just wanted to run my set up by some more experienced growing when it comes to setting up a automated water/feeding system. In my flower room I’m using 3/4 pvc, flora flex manifold, 32 gallon heavy duty trash can for reservoir and cheap 50$ water pump from amazon. I really wanted to know have missed anything when it comes to my setup. My flowering space is 8’x6’I plan on upgrading lights to 2x gavita 1700e and add a trolmaster hydro x. The plants are 24 tropicana cookies F1.

Hi pretty nice set up indeed although where dose the run off go do you let the sit in the drip trays in run off ? Plants should never sit in run off sit the pots on pot risers in the drip tray keeps them up away from run off and getting your pots up off the cold floor on a rack of some kind creat a air gap under them warmer dryer roots aids in plant health and better drainage I can see signs of overwatering. Welcome to the farm hope you enjoy the site regards Od .

Yeah. I was just going to let them set in the Grayson the floor and ran the 1/4 tubing to each pot, connected with emitters.

Looking great, you’d kill it with gavitas. Fluence spydr series are another high quality led to look into. Happy grows.

3/4 line and a cheap $50 pump is gonna equal a bad time.

Aren't the flora caps pressure comp'd (aka don't they have a gph rating or inserts?) If so you will need a good pump with some pressure behind it. If they are pressure comp'd they will require a min pressure to operate correctly. I'm just trying to go off memory since i have never used them. T off a pressure gauge if that is the case to check.

edit: "Completely gutted inside to allow maximum pressure while still evenly distributing water ". Not sure if that means it's still pressure comp'd with the inserts or not. Can you just remove the inserts?

Also gonna need to siphon break that or you are gonna end up with that trashcan full of nutes on the floor at some point.

Solid setup.

Th flora flex manifold are gutted( no inserts) so I get good water pressure. I also have a siphon break, rite above my trash can b4 the PCs pipe enters the flower room to stop siphoning. Also why is 3/4 pvc and $50 pump a bad design? So far their doing the job

I eneded up going with two spydr 2I.
Hell yeah. Great choice. You will not regret that purchase.

I’m going to use the trolmaster hydrox for my co2 n lighting control

what exact pump are you using? Are you getting even watering to each site? Have you checked it with a measuring cup? How many drippers are you running?

I say it's a bad design since most cheap pumps don't ever pump what they claim or have some serious lacking in the head pressure dept. I use 50 dollar cheap pumps for 17 1/4 lines. Just use ones I know work. Just you threw out cheap so wasnt sure if it was a chineseium off brand. I have had plenty of headaches with stuff like that in the past. If it's doing the job that's all you can ask for. No reason to buy new stuff if what you have works. If it is cheap a good suggestion is always keep a backup pump just in case something happens. I even do that with expensive ones.

My comment on 3/4 was because it's pretty overkill for the small number of plants. There is nothing wrong with using it just head pressure with pumps to match it. 1/2 will run 200ish feet @200 GPH. With a small number of plants prob wont be much of a concern with enough back pressure.

System looks great

I used the clear painter bucket and stopwatch to determine if all the manifolds were releasing the same amount of water at the same time. At each manifold I had a bucket with the lines inside. I turned the system on 15min and after that I put each bucket on the scale to weight them.

The pump is a Superior pump 1/4hp $46 on amazon and I have 48 drippers(2 per pot). The 3/4 was liftovers from another project so I just went with it.

How do you go by cleaning your system at the end of each run?

I just run 10% bleach through the lines. I hardly ever clean them out tho since I'm on salts and sterile. Bout once every 3 to 4 runs just for the piece of mind. My flower rooms and usually only down 12 hr to 2 days between runs so no real linger time.

Ok. Cool. I use botanicare pro line, but instead of sweet I use terpinator.

Update: since the last post I was able to grab a few for more items for the flower room. I put my order in for 2x spydr 2I but end up canceling it due to 3-4 weeks lead time on shipping and I reading a lot About their ballast’s going bad, so I wanted to take my time and do more research. I did come across a nextlight mega seemed interesting. Do anybody have any experience with nextlight?

Far as the new items for the flower room goes. I picked up a 20lbs co2 tank, regulator, upgrade carbon filter from 6x24 to 6x34 and trolmaster hydro-x. I'm Pick up another co2 tank just to limit the number of refill trips. So now I waiting on 2 or 3 more items.

Im looking for those fittings to connect the manifold to pvc. Can you breakdown what you used?

The vert gray ones? They are 1/2 sprinkler risers. Come in all lengths . Male on both sides. He used a 3/4 threaded T to a 3/4 to 1/2 threaded reducer.
