Have you tried a 24 hour soak in 1% hydrogen peroxide solution to germinate the older seeds?
I've read a study that suggested that both the germination speed and the number of viable seeds increases with this method but havent tried it myself yet. I will definitely be giving this a shot when I go to start the really expensive seeds though to try and get that 100% viability.
Ya that was me, can't remember who it was that showed how to do it but he gave some detailed instructionsI have heard of this! Also apparently gently scoring the seed shell with sandpaper can also help improve the germination chances. I think @PrimoClonesCanada was having a discussion with a member here who actually uses a razor to gently slice open the shells of really old seeds where the two halves meet?
I'm not too worried about these HSH genetics though they were just freebies I was given years ago so if they don't pop I won't be too sad.
I believe I did that this grow, have a short seedling (1/4 the size of the next smallest plant at best) with a horrible case of helmet head, first 2 sets of leaves are twisted and deformed she looks like she’s trying to grow out of it. I battled that shell for a day and a half, misting it keeping the dome on it, slowly trying to get it to detach lol. Many believe helmet head is from planting too shallow.
They say the friction from the media will remove the shell if planted deep enough.
I don't really know who they are..
You know you got it going on.

Maybe this was @OldFarmer ? I think I remember mention of slicing older seed tips.Ya that was me, can't remember who it was that showed how to do it but he gave some detailed instructions
I think the part I love growing this plant the most (besides smoking it) is how unbelievably many ways there are to train these plants and how awesome the look when they are done, I was just reading the bonsai mother topic in advances techniques section And am thinking I may change up how they did it, the one there was for making a 5 -7 clone mother plant, I was thinking about making one with bonsai wire just for display that looks like a small tree, give the main stem some gnarly ass twists and top it 10-15 times to have multiple mini branches and then bonsai wire those, kinda just a cool project idea lolYou got it going too Mike.
All should learn to grow with no stress, besides training techniques.

Haha hell yeah, I’ve seen a few small ones but they are always like 2 and a half to 3 feet tall, I may have one that size to start but I’d like to have one that is about a foot to a foot and a half maxBonsaijuana!

Lol yeah I wanna twist the shit outta it with bonsai wire too lolYeah I believe that too, so I planted them pretty deep this time...or so I thought!that sounds really cool @Mikedin I just had a convo last night with my friend about growing a weed plant and keeping it vegging in my living room as a decorative piece. The bonsaijuana sounds badass
good to see you 'round steamtrain
Lol yeah I wanna twist the shit outta it with bonsai wire too lol
I've considered buying some for even just early training, seems like it should work?
I have some heavy gauge wire but it’s uncoated, but same stuff they use for bonsaiCould also use lst clips. Maybe put bonsai inside a wire plant wreath and tie down using green plant wire. I actually bought a bag of various zip ties that damn near must have 1000s and it has these tiny ones I bet would be cool to also use during process-de bonzI am actually super interested in this since @ritoMox pointed out a old bonsai thread today from 2017 as a possible solution to me wanting to "slow-roll" my clones vs grow/do something with them sooner than later

Here’s my helmet head seedling, she’s got a little twist to her leaves but looks like it’s coming aroundMany believe helmet head is from planting too shallow.
