Day 44
The Gals appear to be recovering well.
They got moved into a 4x4 tent. One of the pepper plants is now sitting in an AutoPot. Seeing how I like it.
The recirculation is nice, but I’m going through quite a bit of runoff water. I don’t know how much is normal, but I’d say I’ve got about 4-5 gallons of waste water a day.

I’ll move them into 12/12 lighting when the current batch of nutes run out. Looks like sometime over the weekend.

I’m getting a little concerned about humidity. The lung room has humidity in the 55% range, and it doesn’t get much lower than 50%. I know in later flowering it would be ideal to get humidity down to the 40% or lower range, but that’s not going to be possible based on current conditions.
I tried putting a small 6 pint home dehumidifier in the lung room, but it didn’t do anything. Looking into a commercial/crawlspace or quest style dehumidifier is just beyond my budget at the moment. So might need to wait it out and see what happens.

Humidity is a loosing battle sometimes in a tent. Especially when the lights go out. 97% of the water you feed it comes right back out. You won't find a dehumidifier that keeps up with that for cheap lol.Day 62 (Day 12 Flowering)

Extract baby extract!!! Gotta move more air. Two fans circulating and upgrade to 6" up top of you can.
Night time humidity ends up being around 65% recently. I have the AC AI controller trying to figure it out, but usually low temps keep the exhaust at 30% power, which keeps temps about 69F and 65% RH. So it's either dehum, heat, or both in the lung room.
I don't mind dropping the ~$250 for an 80 pint home dehum, but I can't swing a $1,400 quest

About 30% defol target?You're probably going to have to defol a little more too that helps

You should be able to move enough air to make your lung room and tent the same in just a few minutes. If you're only using extraction and passive intake, your 6" fan might be restricted and sucking in the walls of the tent really hard, which means it's not performing at 100%. Do you have the vent flaps open on the bottom?I have a 6" going in it right now.

Intake air is always overlooked and even if your lung room has good numbers it doesn't matter unless it can deliver it fast enough.
And 65% at night is fine. Just make sure the inside air moving fans are cranking 24/7 and adjust their position once a week to avoid little pockets of micro climate.
And yeah, some defol is in order. Anything fan leaves underneath the canopy pointing inwards towards the stem or not reaching out into the light can go. If you can't see through the plants a little you're going to get pockets of stale air the fans don't reach. 75% of the leaves in your tent should be "waving" a little all the time. You'll never get all of them but if you adjust the fans periodically the neglected ones don't stay that way forever

I have one of the bottom vent unrestricted with a 4” ducting “S” bend, and the other bottom vent has one of these: https://eliasalliance.myshopify.com/products/passive-air-intake-for-grow-tents-8-inchYou should be able to move enough air to make your lung room and tent the same in just a few minutes. I don’t have a spare 4” inline fan lying around, unfortunately.I understand about the flaps and the light, that's a bummer. If it were me I would try pushing some air in with a 4" inline fan. It will hook right up to your AI setup and make the lung room interaction much more efficient.
I was trying to find another way to add another passive vent, either another dryer hose “S” bend, or something else. I originally thought one single 4” passive intake would be enough, especially if the 6” was running at 30-60% power. But not so much. Then I added the CEO Grow passive intake, and I don’t think the tent even noticed the second intake.

2.12 VPD
7 ml Silica / 7 ml CalMag / 7 ml Micro / 2.5 ml Grow / 12 ml Bloom, ph to 6.0 (tap water), 1200 ppm tds
We had a rainy spell, and humidity soared up to 78%. So I off and picked up a larger dehumidifier. Within minutes, the lung room humidity dropped to 35%, and the tent dropped to about 45%. Temperature also picked up another 5 degrees or so.
The larger one (CBD) is flower pretty nicely. I think it stopped stretching.
The smaller one (CBG) continues to just sit there. I contemplated just chopping her, but I wouldn’t replace her with anything, so figured lets just see what happens.
I’m running low on the original nutrients, and once I run out I’ll switch to masterbled powdered.

I ran out of Micro, so switched to Masterblend. I had one mix of GH nutes left, so gave it to them.

I noticed some algae growth in the rez, and, getting tired of cleaning it out, tried to use 3% hydrogen peroxide. It didn’t really impact anything. So I tried adding 10ml/5gal of 12% hydrogen peroxide.
I pulled out the airstone and it was completely covered in this white film, like 1/4 inch thick, that was clogging up the airstone. No clue what that was about, but still noticing some algae.
Not sure if the hydrogen peroxide was helping or hurting then.
Noticing some yellow tips on some leaves, looks like it’s nute burn to me. Could be that the calmag is more than they need, with some already in MB mix. Could be some adjusting to the MB mix itself. Not enough to be alarming to me though.

Yeah, she turned into a beast, lolYeah at that VPD with 1100 ppm going in the tips are gonna do that. Plant looks like a total beast though!!
I had to trim some of her back, because she was overtaking the tent. She's probably about 2.5'x2.5'

0 ml Silica / 1 tsp CalMag / 2 tsp MB Mix / 1.5 tsp Epsom Salt / 2 tsp CalNitrate (all per 5 gallons), ph to 6.0 (tap water), 950 ppm tds
I switched to a powdered CalMag, and cut the silica moving forward. Leaves were showing a little bit of burn, so cut the nutes down to closer to 700 ppm, which they didn’t appreciate, so brought it back up to 950. Should be a sweet spot. They’re putting on some good weight. One of the ladies is turning into a monster.
Still got at least another week, probably two to go would be my guess.

0 ml Silica / 1 tsp CalMag / 2 tsp MB Mix / 1.5 tsp Epsom Salt / 2 tsp CalNitrate (all per 5 gallons), ph to 6.0 (tap water), 1150 ppm tds
Humidity ended up getting a bit high for the past 5 days (got into the mid 60’s and low 70’s), but getting it back where it should be.
The buds are getting heavy and falling over. Going to have to find a way to prop them back up, if I go much longer. Most of the trichomes are cloudy right now, none are amber. So probably going to wait just a little bit longer. Being CBD (not THC) I’m not sure that I care for it to be at optimal trichome production. But as I’m testing out the grow system, it would be better to harvest as if it was THC for practice purposes.
I definitely let the plant go way too long in veg though, as is obvious in the massive size of the plant. Lessons learned and all.
