Very nice shot, Brutus. Love the portrait mode where it frames in the subject bud, and blurs out the background. Very nice pic, indeed! She's definitely a frosty girl.I love trichome closeups/macro shots, they're so alien and trippy. So why don't we make a thread where we can share our shots whenever we feel like we caught a particularly interesting one! Also, if we have anything to say about the trichs, like why we took the pic and how we interpret it (usually the color ig) that could help people new to the craft to learn about trichomes. This is no obligation of course, it's totally enough to share your awesome shot! Also, all comments are welcome!
I'll start with the one I took two days ago. In this one it seems to my untrained eye that the trichs are starting to turn cloudy on the buds but aren't really white yet. Also, I don't see amber ones on the flowers, and perhaps only few on the leaves.

So sweet, Tumbleweed! Amazing shot, and totally reminds me of some alien landscape! (or maybe that's just the joint I finished not that long ago...) Just wanted to add, yeah, the reflection of the LEDs was that moment when I thought, "Holy shit, this only cost me twenty bucks???" LMAO!Nice macro shot Brutus. Brother, seeing that reflection of the microscope light on the trichomes is great.
Here's one of a blue cheese under a phone microscope.

Thanks! I actually used Open Camera app on my smartphone and held a jeweler's loupe in front of the main camera to get more magnification. Works wonders but it's a bit fiddly.Very nice shot, Brutus. Love the portrait mode where it frames in the subject bud, and blurs out the background. Very nice pic, indeed! She's definitely a frosty girl.
Cheers,
BA.
I see this forum resizes the photos and there's no way I know of to DL the original size, so I need to either crop before sharing or get closer when shooting from now on. Like this phallic bud close up:Here's another shot with mostly clear trichs. Taken with the same method, phone camera through a jeweler's loupe.
Edit: and one more. These are so much fun to shoot.
This is something I rarely see, intersting!Just to mix things up a little, here's a swollen trichome covered calyx on a vegging plant.
Here ya go last harvest!I don't know what it is, but I'm fascinated with the macro shots of trichomes. Absolutely loving this thread! I'll be sure to post another pic at the end of this weeks, see the progress.
Cheers,
BA.
That's pretty! How did you get so close? Here ya go last harvest!
