Hi, folks.

First time growing indoors. I'm using Pro-mix HP medium, distilled water and GH Flora series nutes. Have a Phlizon LED 600W dual spectrum (veg and bloom) light. It's from a Godfather OG seed. I transferred the germinated seed directly to the 5 gal. pail 4 weeks ago. I topped it about 8 days ago, and am doing some LST to spread it out. I currently have my light set about 20" from the canopy on a 16/8 cycle with both spectrum lights on. My question is, does this look too short? It's a photo strain and I'd like to go a few more weeks before flipping, to max out the bud sites. Is that a good idea?

Any help is appreciated, as I'm a first time grower here, and have been reading the forum here like the bible!

Thanks tons!

The spread looks great. If you want to wait you sure can, just know that it will stretch upward even prior to 12/12. I would not if it were mine use anymore LST just keep it healthy and fed allow it to do it's thing. Keep adjusting the light distance and just remove leaf covering bud sites or over lapping other leaf so not to get condinsation or sweating on the leaf. I have a tendency to be heavy handed on the LST LOL so don't worry if she's short or squat just leave her be for the time being. Good luck

Thanks, @Galgrows. I appreciate the feedback. I've noticed what you mention about stretching already. I keep bending/tying the branches back to keep them stretching outwards (trying for a spiral) and have to do it about every 4 days or so. My tent is only a 4x2x4' so I'm limited in room as far as height goes, hence the abundance of LST being required. I have a feeling I underwatered it for the first couple of weeks, and that might have contributed to it being so short. I'm currently putting in about 2L of distilled water with a pH of 6.0-6.1 after adding the nutes. Putting in about 2/3 of the recommended nutes (as it's for Hydro in the mixing tables) and keeping my ppm at the low end of recommended on the chart. I'm doing this every 2 to 3 days at most. Basically, once the top inch or so feels dry (not clumping) I add the water. Hopefully this is adequate, but it seems the growth has really taken off since I started doing this.

I think I'll give it another week to 2 weeks at most and then I'll begin flipping it to flower. Once they start reaching a bit more, I think, I'll make that move.

Cheers!

That’s a happy plant. Great work. If it were mine I’d veg it out another couple of weeks like you said just to grab some more vertical growth before the transition. I’m excited to see the finish. It’s looking great

Thanks, @TheGoldenRoad. It's always a relief to hear I haven't screwed up the grow so far. I'll post some more pics in this thread next weekend and on a weekly basis from there to highlight the progress. From what I'm hearing, it's time to put away the tie downs and let her get a bit more height.

Cheers!

Hey, folks. So I've taken your advice, stopped with any further LST and am letting her stretch a bit longer. I figure one more week and it'll be ready to flip to flower. There's been a lot of filling in and a bit of vertical growth, but I'm really hoping for another 4 to 6 inches of height before flip. Any suggestions would be welcome on that matter. This is all a first for me...lol.
