Hi guys!

New growers here in doubt about space and light.

I have a 80x80x170cm growing tent and I have a TS1000 150w by Mars Hydro.

My question is; Is it worth it to buy another, I would say 100w to had to this one and have 250 in this space? Do you think it is ok?

Thank you all

Couple things to consider. First, total wattage. 250W of LED in your tent is 40W/ft². That's a lot. If you're running CO2 and hydro, you'll be able to use it all. If you're in ambient CO2 and soil, it's more than you'll use, unless you have everything else dialed in. Which is fine. You'll just dial the dimmer down a bit. Second, light shape. Ideally, we want our light(s) to match the shape we're trying to light. Square light for a square tent, or an array of lights that can light it evenly. Without knowing the shape of the second light it's hard to say, but it's tough to light a square tent evenly with two square lights.

I use 40w sq/ft LED, no CO2, BUT, I have great fresh air exchange.
When Gavita first came out with the 1700e, it was recommended to take the place of a 1000w HID, in a 4 x 4 area.
The light is about 640w. Which in a 4 x 4 area. 640 divided by 16sq/ft is 40w-sq/ft.

I set the light at 24-30 inches from canopy, 100% power, and let the seedling, grow into the light. Some strains, dont like/need, as intense of a light, but Ive found Sativa dominant strains, do quite well under higher light intensity. I also use 2x Solacure Flower Power UVA/B bulbs for a 4 x 4. I also believe some strains get a lot more benefit with UVA/B supplementation vs others.
For me, one of, if not the very, very first, Top Priority is, Fresh Air Exchange.
Pre Industrial Revolution, the CO2 in the air, was roughly 180ppm. NOW, its 420+ ppm.
Thing is, outside, even though CO2 numbers arent as high as one can supplement with, its still way more than the plants can use, because there is always a surplus. Never ending fresh supply, of CO2, O2 and other gasses.
People get 10lbs a plant ( right genetics ) Outside, with CO2 at 420ppm, all the time. And, they are using the SUN, which no light, can compete with.

Thanks for replying ArtfulCodger

In this case I would add a 100w Samsung LM301H EVO from spider farmer. I am running straight coco but co2 it's normal. At the beginning of my grow, I bought an Exhaile co2 bag, but after saw a lot of opinions that it doesn't really work...
I've having some issues with my 2 Kali Mist and 2 White Russian from Serious Seeds. I am running all canna coco nutes from them as well. But had to cut on the portion as ut was a bit too much I think, especially with my tap water at 440ppm.

There you can see how they are :/

Will pot up tomorrow night as I don't have time today to do it today.

It's my very first grow.

When it comes to LED lighting I'm all for big power, tall tents or grow spaces, coverage and control. I spent decades screwing with HPS, CMH, Fluorescents and even some styles of reflective Carbon Arc in the old days. It use to be a massive chore to light a grow space. It's so easy now days to buy a light or lights to cover your floor space with even light, manage light output and temps.

I have a HLG 650R in my 3' x 3' x 7'-11" tent. That gives me 70w-sq/ft. Many would say that is overkill. I think it's just right. Summer months I can keep the light down low on the plants with the power turned down and come the winter months I can raise the light higher and keep the tent warm without counting on the central heat and air system and always have my PAR just where I want it. I will be going to a 4' x 4' x 7'-11" tent this winter and get rid of the bastard sized 3' x 3' tent. With just the 650r in a 4' x 4' tent I'm back down to 39w-sq/ft. and back to not managing light coverage correctly. Not a problem I have two HLG 260 Rspec lights that can go back in service with the 650r to get the coverage back to near perfect and back to 70w-sq/ft. I keep my exhaust fans outside of the tent so I can have as much space as possible to raise my lights and manage the space like a aerobatic competition pilot does the box.

My 2' x 4' x 7'-11" tent has two HLG 350r's bolted together for 82w-sq/ft and near perfect coverage. I will never be 100% on the dimmers so this goes a long way to keeping the wear down on the drivers and leds and extending the lifespan of the lights. For me it's a win, win, win and goes a long way towards control and flexibility.

And for even more grow control each tent has a HLG 100V2 @ 4000k for seedlings that want to get leggy. Primarily for sativa youngins or goof troop fufu hybrids that don't know what they are and want to get leggy. The 4000k helps keep height issues at bay when young while getting root development in the game. When not in use they have their own yoyo and they get covered with a towel and lay against the tent wall and get hoisted high up in the tent out of the way. Always there and ready if needed.

Lighting and ventilation are long term investments.
