Should i remove this branch?

So there was a big storm that knocked over a broom I had near my plants and I came out and saw the branches pushed to the ground but they did not snap. So I propped them up and everything seemed fine, but today I noticed this spot on the branch that got hit. I removed two smaller branches attached to this one that seemed to be affected aswell. I'm really hoping I won't have to remove this whole branch as it is a bigger one. I don't think this is any sort of disease since this is the exact branch that was hit. Should I remove it or just let it go and see what happens? The branch seems fine up top and doesn't look like its dying and the spot doesn't have any odors but I'm not really sure. Thanks in advance.

Side note: the spot was a little darker but I scraped the top layer off some

Could that have been caused by the impact the branch took?

Should I spray the spot with a little captain jacks

That brown area was likely caused by the black plastic tie rubbing against it. Move the broom.

The zip tie is between the branches above that spot so it can't slide down to where the bad spot is so I don't think it was cause by the zip tie itself. The broom was immediately removed after it happened I always had it leaning against the wall there first time the wind was ever able to blow it over. I don't keep it there anymore.

I did this trying to bend it over snapped it in half so close hanging by a thread was fine

I checked the plant this morning and ants had gone up my plant and were covering that bad spot. They weren't anywhere else just there. Is this a sign of anything?

Look up ants and aphids.

Hard to believe a broom handle falling on it would cause that damage !! I’m with herbaledu on this one looks fungal ! I guess the broom could have done a LITTLE damage then the fungi went to work

I ended up removing that branch, the rest of the plant looks fine so fingers crossed.
