Should I trim or defoliate?

This is my first grow. I think I had either the light too close to the plants, or a phosphorus deficiency do to incorrectly pH’d water. I have some fan leaves that have turned yellow and have a little burning. Should I trim off these leaves or leave them?

There is also small growth at the base of the stem. Should I remove this as well?

If its not healthy remove it.

What about the tiny growth at the base of the stem? It looks healthy but I’m pretty sure I’m supposed to take it off but I wasn’t sure since the plant is recovering from whichever issue I gave it. They’re also not huge plants. Week 3 or 4 of veg.

Gradually take it off. Not all in 1 day. Every 2 or 3 days trim it up. Yes i lollipop it early when they are clones i have a couple inches cleaned at the base.

I just trimmed the yellow/burned looking leaves. I left the stems.
