there are 3 main outdoor strains around, swazi, durban poison, and pondo. swazi is a country within the borders of my country. the rastafarian community where i buy the swazi from drive it from swaziland in pickup trucks. durban(super nice weed) and pondo(closer to hemp not very good) both also very popular but not close to the level swazi. i will definitely share more as i only started doing the forum thing days ago but super keen to be part, have planted some seeds in this week lets see what pops up. we have 5 months left for outdoor seasonI understand the concept of throwaway seed, I really meant what varieties you get where you are and how confident you are in the genetics of the strains you get when you buy weed........unless you're buying from growers. As far as the Swazi, if you have access to a true heirloom or landrace maybe they would be interested in preserving it/working with it. It will certainly be interesting to see your single leaf flowered and matured. It's interesting to see what people in other countries naturally have access to. Maybe you could keep some records (and pictures?) of the weed you get, and track the seeds you get from them and how those resulting plants look, act, etc.
i checked out the kwikseeds site they dont stock swazi maybe i should start breeding ey lol
I've never heard of pondo......doesn't sound very good. ;) , the word "pond" doesn't always conjur up the best thoughts. I'm of course quite familiar with the other 2 (and geography), and I'm looking forward to giving Durban a try, possibly even outdoors. Like Skunk#1 and others, finding true pure genetics is half the battle.......more if you have skills and just need the best seeds.there are 3 main outdoor strains around, swazi, durban poison, and pondo. swazi is a country within the borders of my country. the rastafarian community where i buy the swazi from drive it from swaziland in pickup trucks. durban(super nice weed) and pondo(closer to hemp not very good) both also very popular but not close to the level swazi. i will definitely share more as i only started doing the forum thing days ago but super keen to be part, have planted some seeds in this week lets see what pops up. we have 5 months left for outdoor season
i can easily guide you to sites to order from for most african landracesMight be a dead end but you could have some luck finding these strains with @Poekie over in Spain. Good luck bro.
I want freak showWelcome aboard!!!
I'm sure there is a tradeoff. 1 leaf is less space to absorb light. I know there are Ducksfoot strains that only have 3 finger fan leaves, but they seem to be treated more as a novelty like Freakshow, than as any benefit.
Humboldt seed companyI want freak show
maybe yeah, im guessing she doesnt yield well thoI want freak show
you know if the strain is stable?Humboldt seed company
I like growing their stuff. They’re a reputable outfit. If you go to their website you can get a description. I’m May try freak show this summer. The guy gives a brief video description of each strain on the website. But you cant Order direct I don’t think. Have to go through a bank or get them at a dispensary. I get them at a local dispensary in Cali.you know if the strain is stable?
but within the genetic variation withing the f1 or f2 you will get soooooo many different 'phenos' im wondering what the changes are your paying top dollar for that seed and half them turn out less freakyI like growing their stuff. I wonder the same thing. It’s so off-the-wall how could you get any consistency. But they don’t seem to sell junk so maybe they’ve got it figured out. Or may be a crapshoot.but within the genetic variation withing the f1 or f2 you will get soooooo many different 'phenos' im wondering what the changes are your paying top dollar for that seed and half them turn out less freaky
edit:hsc looks legit for sure, saw a cannacribs episode on their farm
also true they are stating a big reputation on itBut they don’t seem to sell junk so maybe they’ve got it figured out.
I’ve had problems with banks before. So I like being able to walk in to a dispensary and walk out with a pack of seeds. And I like that their operation is about 100 miles from me. They’ve got all the selection I need.Try to keep it local. L O L.also true they are stating a big reputation on it
fully agree on keeping it local my brother. i might not buy seeds again as there is now someone selling clones in the area dont dispensaries sell clones? or do you enjoy the gamble of poppingI’ve had problems with banks before. Yes, they sell clones. But the selection isn’t quite as good. I like popping them but I might stick with fems This year. Some guy gave me about 40 Durban Cross regulars. He was kind of a fuck up and didn’t know what they were crossed with, so I’ll take a chance on a few of those. I have to deal with hot temperatures so I kind of like going from seed. Over 100° daily from mid June to mid September. But they grow.fully agree on keeping it local my brother. i might not buy seeds again as there is now someone selling clones in the area dont dispensaries sell clones? or do you enjoy the gamble of popping
DO NOT buy clones from a dispensary, could be hiding issues waiting for your environment to come alive..fully agree on keeping it local my brother. i might not buy seeds again as there is now someone selling clones in the area dont dispensaries sell clones? or do you enjoy the gamble of popping
