Only to remember the sideways sins of yesterday ..... summer time in Denver I might see some friends of my mind .... I may stay there to sept till the leaves begin to die (is kid rock talking harvest ..... lol)

That was pretty awesome..

I feel like they were just unlucky.. biggest thing is just walking around with so many cameras and shit.
Liable to get jacked walking around with thousands dollars of equipment.

Personally i find detroit and flint inviting.. just respect the city
Ive wandered thru the hoods of flint lost on foot and tripping incredibly hard.
Just made friends.. didnt get shot

Ended up playing bongos and signing about the movie tremors in monsoon like weather on a random porch with a lot of random folk.
Good times to be had imo..

Not everyone ends up playing bongos and making friends. 6 to 7 people a day get shot and Detroit averages 1 person killed everyday. Think its #2 on the list right now of most dangerous cities. Sounds like you were in the Hippie Hood!

Actually flint is more dangerous then detroit... Don't get me wrong both cities are most dangerous in the country but flint is nuts. No cops, no jobs, no fucks given. Shamus definitely did not walk around and meet friendly strangers on the north side of flint I can guarantee that.

With an average of 50+ minutes for police response time to crimes in Det. I think it's pretty safe to say many, many murders
in Det. do not show up in the statistics. You can shoot someone, then throw them in the trunk and drive to Ohio before
the police even show up. Plus there are 100 "justified" homicides per year in Detroit.

Flint is bad but, every time I hear gun shots I usually hear sirens within 10 minutes or so. I think there is a lot less unreported
killings in Det. then Flint.

So if you live in a third world country and want to come to America, you need a passport and an entry visa.

If you live in a third world country IN America, Fucking LEAVE! There are many nicer places to live in this country- in fact, most of them! So why stay? Is the familiarity of home more powerful than the dangers of violence, drugs, gangs and no future?

Most everything I hear from Michigan anymore makes me wonder about the long term viability of our Union as a nation. In my lifetime, this was the richest state in the country. Now look at it. If this is what we can expect from decades of letting corporations run our democracy, y'all can keep it.

10k$ houses and no plant # limits (in the hood). The state as a whole is really nice, even parts of Detroit/Flint are really nice.
I moved here less then a year ago. In my area I can buy three houses outright for the same cost I was paying for rent in a year
in Long Beach.

It's temporary for me but, do feel bad for the children that can't leave and have to grow up around this shit.

I'd buy real estate up there too- if I ever thought I would get a return on my investment. Between the Rust Belt, the weather and the neofascist legislature, I have my doubts.

Don't get me wrong on this- I'd love to see Michigan turn around. I just don't see it happening.

A lot of the manufacturing we will never get back and I think things are getting better just real slow. Most of Detroit is a dump being reclaimed by mother nature. I dont worry about the hood where I live and houses are cheap and so far the local gov hasnt been too bad. I like to fish and hunt so its a real nice place for me. I hear florida calling me back though!

I used to live in Deerfield Beach, between ft Lauderdale and Boca. Not the place to live if you don't have money! I wasn't too impressed with the climate- Winter was still chilly and the water was too cold to swim in, so that's not tropical- and the summer was miserable to someone who grew up a mile high and dry! And then there were the hurricanes, only four that year... three of which hit my apartment.

I'll come visit, but I'm done living there. Only place I've ever seen a traffic jam comprised solely of convertible Bentleys... or a Diablo slowly cooking its clutch in summer beach traffic, or an Enzo getting sideways turning right onto the boulevard... Stupid Money, in every sense of the phrase.
