First time back at it since last winter. Growing my legal 4 plants here in the great white north. Managed to clean up and organize the bedroom enough to setup a small shelf with some un used t5ho from my aquariums for starting my seeds under. And got my 3x3x6 tent back up. Growing under a tmlapy 3000w led. It has separate controls for the grow and bloom. Was pretty good last winter when I used it, gives off more heat than expected with both lights on.

Pros: I don't pay the power bill.
Pros: I have an absentee landlord.
Pros: I'm mildly experienced at growing

Cons: I don't control/pay for the heat in my apartment. And there are times during the colder days that the baseboard heating gets the room up to 76f or more, without the heat from the light.
Cons: I can't vent out of any of the windows. As it's a rental unit the landlord doesn't know, I'd rather he not come by and see a vent out the window that wasn't there before.

I'm growing some sample beans I got with the purchase of what I really want to grow, which are some of my old favorites. Power Plant, Sensi Star and S.A.G.E. But this is an organic trial run to see how things go. I understand I can't really call it organic as I'm using up some old AN 3-part as well I have from last time. Using Gaia green mixed in the pots and organic frass as a top dressing. Dynomyco samples mixed in as well. Trying to figure out what the leaf issue is? Maybe nutrient lock up? Gotta get some epsom salts to foliar spray.

2x Kosher Kush in black pots 1x French Macaron in clay pot

Started
Dec 13:
Scuffed
1 atomical haze
1 French macaron
1 Kosher kush
1 Kosher kush not scuffed

Dec 15
Kushes and macaron into pro mix potting soil
Haze has popped but not spread out

Dec 16 haze into soil but not fully popped.

Dec 18
Kush and French getting out of soil and showing true leaves. Higher Temps and breeze blowing to firm the stems.
Haze still underground

Dec 30th
Haze didn't make it

French macaron in brown pot. 3tbl Gaia green per 4L dynomyco approx 6gr

Jan 1. Watered with secret juice

Jan 4
Watered 320ppm b52 and Humboldt secret
2 litres each plant. Flux Temps 74-80

Lighting is full veg, 1/3rd bloom

Jan 7 1 teaspoon frass per plant and water
Still some deficiency. Maybe cal/mag? Or foliar

Jan 9th. Watering AN 3 part. At 950ppm-150 tap water = 800 ppm. Turned off bloom, just veg light on.

After they dry out, try a foliar Epsom salt and flip to flower a week from now
Temp at soil level is 75ish with window open. Sort out the fans and vents.

Jan 15: topped them all yesterday. Today did a big defoliar. These are before pics of the French macaron. Cal/mag cleared up the Kosher kush, still issue with the Frenchie.

Behind on my posts.

Jan 25: 10ml cal/mag 20ml 3 part approx 1050ppm-150 900ppm

Jan 28: tied down and mild defoliar of 1 lanky Kosher. Fully tied down frenchie, mostly tied down other kush. Start turning down veg lighting next watering. Lanky Kosher will need it first.

Jan 29: turned veg light down 25%. See lower temps

Feb 1st: fish tank water 200ppm
1 WEEK INTO FLOWER
10ml cal/mag 25ml 3 part 1170 ppm
Approx 1000ppm

Feb 5th: lights back to 50% veg maybe less.
LIGHTS OFF 818 PM

Feb 7th: 200pm fishtank water
10ml b52 10ml cal/mag 15ml each 3 part. 20ml bb
1150-200= 950ppm
Next flowering water go biggest
FEB 11TH. veg light down to 10%

Feb 14th: veg light back at 50%
200ppm fish tank water. 30ml 3part. 10ml cal/mag 5ml b52 25ml big bud 1200ppm

Feb 21: 200ppm fish water. 30ml 3 part. 5ml b52 10ml cal mag 40ml big bud 1550ppm-200 1350ppm
Biggest feed.

Maybe root bound?

Feb 26:
200 ppm fish water 10ml b52
4 tablespoon bug bud organic powder
1400-1500ppm

DAY 39 of flowering March 3: leftover from above watered down with tap, added 10ml b52. Added 20ml big bud
10ml 3 part
1600ppm - 100 tap water. 1500ppm
Next water just big bud

I think turning back the veg light early, maybe lower ppm slowed flowering flip. Will take em all to 65 days prob.

Hey nice work, I just wanted to add that I have a Sunlike 1000w light with a veg & bloom mode as well, I used a lux meter to see what settings and at what distance was the best to use I found I could get around 55,000 lux out of the light about 18 " from the canopy with both Veg and Bloom lights on, with the veg light off it dropped to about 35,000 lux so in flower I kept both on until week 10 then I shut down the veg until I pulled them at 11

Thx man. Yea I think I stalled them a bit early flowering by shutting the veg light back 50% coupled with lower ppm of nutrients. Didn't really see a big flowering boost until week 5. I should invest in a lux meter. Trying to keep these grows cheap and cheerful tho.
Few more flowering pics. Firm nugs

Ya a lux meter isn't really recommended for led lights but it gives me base numbers I can work with and I can see the effect of the lights across the canopy.........Its not the most accurate but it was relatively cheap and better than nothing. I think $35 amzon Cdn

I'd say I miss growing with hps but not really. The cost of replacing bulbs, the heat off them etc. And I'm not growing for yield anymore like I was 20 years ago. Would be good to know the amount of light tho yes.

I'm pretty new to led lights, I'm much more comfortable with HPS, I'll get these lights eventually but I'm not as good with them yet. I like the heat from my 1000w hps, there's only 2 months of the year that it's too hot for it in my basement. I have to I have to add heat...a 1200w heater in my 5x5 -2 -75w reptile lamps in my 3x3 and 150w heat lamp in my veg closet.....no led cost savings there.

Ah ok. Yeah this is my 3rd grow ever with LED. I think I've finally got it dialed in.

Also up until now I wasn't in control of the temperature in my apartment so temps were an issue, was getting alot of stretch during veg with temps in the high 70s/low 80s. Landlord installed the thermostat on our side of the house now so I keep it at 70-72f.

I've got two old 36 inch fish tank lights t50ho that I use for veg/clones and seedlings that give off little to no heat as well. Gonna turn the lights off in 2 days. Will be day 75 then. All plants are cloudy trichs, some amber heads

Thx. The Kosher kush for sure. I'd grow that again over the French macaron. I topped and tied them both down, the macaron stayed almost too short. Too much leaf production. I defoliared 3 times, heavily, and it just seemed content to grow leaves more than buds. I'm sure some tweaking I could sort that out too, but these were just freebies. Real strains i want to grow are coming next.

Chop day a few days back. Hanging and drying atm. I'm not growing for yield, but for quality, these are smelling and tasting great already. Planning a full organic grow next time alongside some free nutes I got. Maybe expand the tent, add a light cuz the next run will be taller sativa leaning varieties.
