Got back into serious growing about a month ago after life got in the way for a couple years, my best mate and I got up to 9oz on 1 autoflower and were just getting things tuned when we had to call it off. I moved, bought all his stuff, did a half-assed trial but now I have things dialed in with 2 2x4s, controllers, living soil, nutes, etc. and they are looking great. Limited to 4 plants here so going for maxing out each one. Planning on upgrades for the second tent when they're too big for one, I think think my wife wife likes the other light on her houseplants too much and I want to switch to the AC Infinity AI controller.

But most all, I spent a while tucking leaves and pruning the lower/inner branches and bud sites, it's so good to get right in there and get to know each plant and see how they each grow differently, keep an eye on each one and come away smelling like it. I kind of lollipop my plants, minimally trim leaves but remove any branches/buds in the middle/bottom.

I used to to be a field tech but I now WFH at the desk and I'm still geeky with the control setup but it's good get into something non-technical and hands-on with my plant friends. I'm really looking forward to my time in the tents with them to unwind.

And, my first time getting on a forum after many hours reading others and getting a lot of info, hope I can help out some folks. I tried a trick with my seedlings based on a university study (on general plants) and I think it's going to work well, they they looked like no other seedlings I've had.

Welcome to the forum.

Growing is a great hobby. There are some geeky people here and some less so. There's a lot of good people here though.

I like to grow a couple bigger plants instead of a lot of little ones so I usually don't even grow 4 plants inside. After the outside season I'm set for a while which is good because the Sinai I'm starting now will take me to when I set up for next years outdoors.

I wanted to see if anyone was reading.

This isn't the only study of of it's kind but it is where I saw it first.

https://academic.oup.com/pnasnexus/article/2/7/pgad216/7221976

I kept the seeds in peat cubes in a dark, relatively sealed container with apples. Instead of being thin like alfalfa sprouts <1/16" diameter, they were more like bean sprouts ~1/8" and beefy. However, the peat cubes got moldy and I sprayed a couple of times with Copper Sulfate, not thinking ahead. When the roots reached the outside of the cube the plants got stunted and I lost 2 but the other 4 are looking great.

Next time I plan to dip the cubes in H2O2 prior to starting or put the cubes in the soil and use humidity tents with an apple in each one.

These little ones are at about 5 weeks. The video is the best one from a few years ago (before the ethylene trick).

I read that same study and tried it last year. Unfortunatly I left them in the dark too long and I had to trash them. I used bananas.
