Not knowing anything about your system, it's tough to know what to suggest. In general, I try to avoid stunting or miniaturizing the plants with too much light, too frequent watering, or too much fertilizer.
I just keep them happy and healthy during vegetation and change to the flowering light schedule based on the height of the plants.

Well, they can either veg longer or grow faster. I boost their nutrients about a week before the flip. I basically give them partial doses of both veg and flower nutrients. That gets them going.Yeah for sure, but I vegged these for like 5 and a bit weeks. Not sure i want to go over that as it seems a waste of electricity and nutrients.
I've grown plants into the lights a few times. Lately, I've taken the distance from the soil to the light and divided it into thirds. So, then I veg to the first third and hope they stretch another third. The last third is for a healthy distance between the plant and the light. That rule of thumb has worked well, but can be tweaked depending on the height of the tent.Another problem is that (apparently) plants can double in size im the switch to Flowering. So, I still need to keep in mind the limitations of the space while trying to encourage them to at least get 50cm tall hahaha
Veg it longerHello lovely people,
As always, i have reached a point in my journey where i need to call on some help from this lovely community.
So, I am currently coming to the end of my third grow. I have developed and improved massively.
I have attached some pictures of my last grow.
One thing i haven't been able to figure out is how to get my plants to grow taller without having to veg them for months. I veg for about 5 weeks normally and they have never gotten over about 45cm. The tent is 180 x 100 so i don't feel as if i am maximising the space i have.
How do you guys do it?
Like yourself I always struggled getting heighth and frankly I gave up worrying. Last summer I planted clones in my garden even and saw little difference. I just switched to hydroponics so I am anxious to see the difference. These 3 were my trial plants for hydro and considering I STRUGGLED balancing PH they are rebounding great. Not tall at all but they will double.Yeah for sure, but I vegged these for like 5 and a bit weeks. Not sure i want to go over that as it seems a waste of electricity and nutrients.
