I have top feed hydro... i hit the plants a few week ago with Azamax. I didn't like the way it foamed my reservoir and then i had crazy sodium buildup, so i wasnt planning to use that again. these spots showed up after he first Azamax treatment, then the new growth was looking healthy for a while, but now the new growth has these spots as well.
I know i have other problems too. Heat stress, plants are too close to the light. fungus gnats, root rot.

Nope, that looks like an advanced Ca- (calcium deficiency) to me, especially if you pulled those leaves from the top. If you'll note, the pattern is occurring only on leaf margins and *on* the veins themselves. This pattern shows regularity, which usually disallows pest or disease.

I notice that you say you're seeing some ants and fungus gnats. That was what I noticed the year I had root aphids.

A note: knowing *where* on the plant the issues are being observed is very helpful. IE; growing tips, mid plant, lowers.

More info please.

Medium, nutrient program, temps, application rate of azamax, location of leaf damage, water source etc.

If you have root rot and fungus gnats, it is a sure sign you are keeping your medium too moist. Address those issues first before jumping to the conclusion that sap sucking pests are your problem. Get some space between your plants and the lights also if you fear they are heat/light stressed.

Can you see webs or physical evidence of mites? from the pictures it looks as if you may have a calcium/magnesium issue. Are you supplementing Cal/Mag according to your mediums needs??

Peace and love.

Initially it was just lower and fan leaves affected, i noticed new growth by the buds was healthy for a while and now is starting to show the spots.
Glad to hear its not spider mites. i couldnt find one spider or web. But the spots look like some spider mite pics ive seen.

the ants... not infested. i see one or two here and there, theyve been around since day 1. i dont think the ans are damaging the plants
heat stress from lights...i flipped them too late and they stretched into the lights. i only have 7' ceiling. next time my plants will be smaller and trained better.

Gnats and root rot... My approach is to try and keep it under control 2-3 weeks by vacuuming gnats i see, i added a small dose of Azamax 1Tbs/10gals. i dont want to hit them hard with azamax again. So, im glad its not mites.

The roots are laying in water and thats why i run the pump often to keep water circulating. looks like this.

Anyway... I do own a litre of Cal-Mag Xtra and i will get some of that into the system today.

@ccWTF I'd definitely get rid of those ants , they are a vector for aphids....You can use mosquito dunks to help get rid of the fungus gnats....

Your garden will perform better when you get rid of those pests.....

Good luck!

Ive heard and read about the mosquito dunks and i had them in my hand at the hydro store. the store owner talked me out of it. LOL. He said it only works for mosquitoes.

Anyway... Ive identified this as a fungus gnat because he wings are flat on its back and not vertical like praying position.
As you can see in the pics, its a little messy with debris which is probably contributing to the ant problem.
the vacuuming approach to the gnats helps keep the debris under control as well.
I do plan on taking the whole system apart and hitting walls and floor with Clorox cleaner today or 2moro. fortunately i own an extra light and can move the plants out for a few hours without too much stress.
