well...i just have some uninvited little pink spidermites show up yesterday in the green house...a little worried about what to use to keep em at bay until i harvest without ruining any of the tastee buds...anyone have some suggestions....i used ed's zero tolerance lightly yesterday....and probably gonna use chili pepper water in a spray bottle...another technique that has worked in the past for whiteflies...spidermites etc... was painting pieces of cardboard bright yellow...then after it drys spray on somme cooking oil....the bugs are attracted to the yellow and stick to it (pam spray on butter) other then these ideas....:fighting0003:

Hot shot no pest strips (Dichlorvos) work well for mites but i dont know how effective they would be in a greenhouse. You could also try Azamax it can be used up to harvest and will almost always kill off any bug infestation.

dump a full tank of CO2 in your green house and leave, don't go in there for a few hours. It knocks them back for a week, so you'll have to do it 2-3 times. Dichlorvos is some nasty shit, use it as a last resort. it is definitely effective though.

Don't you need to ensure the CO2 reaches a critical saturation level, though?

This is how my son has been handling mites in late flowering.

Im interested in this CO2 technique as well. Ive been trying to control them with Azatrol , and while it seems to be doing an Ok job so far, I want those fuckers dead . all of them .

Ive been thinking of investing in a small co2 set up anyways (I have a 6'x4' growlab). how much CO2 would you think to flood and kill those bastards, incase the azatrol dosent finish them off ? Im sure if you go to much you could kill the plants too ?

Peace:rasta:

I have been battling mites for years so here is my regimine and it works: 1. when taking cuttings DIP them in a floramite solution. 2. when transplanting those clones in 2 weeks SPRAY them. 3. 2 weeks later hit them once more with the floramite. 4. when transfering the vegged plants in to the flower room SPRAY with einstein oil twice one week apart 5. once a week except for the last use AZAMAX. You can't use the same thing repeatedly as they will build a tolerance to that treatment so I swith up the products. If you follow that regimine YOU WILL NOT HAVE MITES!!! I forgot what the little fuckers looked like! It may seem like a lot of work cuz it is, but quality bud takes time and effort.....and as for those pest strips there straight poison (non-organic kind) and the CO2 thing does work pretty decently.

Ive tried all sorts of stuff, sprays with rosemary sprays with neem, natural predators, and sprays that block the pores on the mites so they cant breathe, but the only thing that ive used that worked 100% was the nasty no pest strips. If you are going to eat the weed dont use them, and dont spend too much time in the room, they kill most of the mites within 4 days, i leave it in there for a couple of weeks to make sure.

Thing is, the bastards come back later ! A good idea is to grow a fast finishing strain so the bugs have less time to fuck up your crop.

i have done like 4 or 5 bombs this rip and even put a towel over the soil and dipped every plant into a 5 gal bucket of AzaMax and still had them. i have a 50lbs tank of co2 and will be doing bombs for late flower. week 1 of flower i ran Floramite it's actually not that expensive 1oz is $20 shipped and it makes 24 gallons of spray. i have hot shot no pest strips (3) in my room and plan on doing a co2 bomb at the next sign of them. fight them with EVERYTHING you can!

also alcohol and water a 50/50 mix works well and the alcohol evaporates so i wouldn't think it would hurt your buds (besides the potential mold).

If they are 3 wks from harvest I wouldn't use anything toxic to humans. Doktor doom has a totally non toxic fogger which can be used up till the day of harvest..... why poison yourself and anyone who smokes the buds.

Use the Floramite on the clones only, it will even kill the eggs.

Id probably turn the lights off for the co2 bomb, but that's just pure conjecture , sorry ;)

On another note , Ive just placed an order for a small amount of something called SNS -217

its a new product made of pure rosemary oil , and is supposed to be a true death dealer to mites....

Ive heard a lot of good things already , any experience here ??

follow my regimine above and you will never have to worry about them again.period. and yes azamax is good to the day of harvest although I spray my buds with some shit called "that stuff" plant wash to be sure to remove any oils or residuals. hope that helps

Not just in SoCal, but throughout the valley, too. Many have become quite resistant.

Resistance is futile!

I had a bad case in my veg room and after trying everything I tried some sampels of SNS -17 and after 2 treatments they are gone the plants seem to love this stuff and you can spray with lights on, I ordered 5 gallons and use it to dip all my cuttings you can also use it on non rooted cuttings..The best part is you can use it all the way through flower.
