Starting from Scratch

I haven't seen this done quite this way in any of the threads I've read. It might work, it may not.

I enjoy a good project. A grow room build is next on my 'to do' list. What I'd like to do is create a graphical representation of what I want to build before I actually do it. Maybe I can work out some of the kinks before I actually try to build my room. It is going to be a learning experience for me, and maybe(hopefully) for the next newbie to come along.

Here is the space I have to work with; A 10x18 floor space with a 46" knee wall. the peak of the roof is 10'5" high. The walls are open studs at the moment and the only electrical is a single light bulb.
If/when I get my mmcard, I will be starting small. According to State Law I will be able to have a maximum of 12 seedlings and 12 flowing plants. If by chance I become a caregiver too I will be allowed to double that amount. This number of plants is what I feel I should design for. Any more and I'd be in violation of the State law, any less, and I could find myself without enough space to grow what I may be allowed. I'm thinking of it as future proofing the design.

From what I have read so far I will need a minimum of two grow rooms with different light cycles to be set up for this. If I will or should need something different please feel free to tell me. I'm here to learn.

I'll try to update the designed space as I get specifics ironed out and as I figure stuff out.

I am working in a much smaller space and I can get 24 plants flowering and my veg room has 9 mothers and (never you mind how many) clones, as well. I separate my rooms with curtains (and soon panda vinyl) I have one outlet and two timers to run the different cycles. I can keep the humidity and temp the same for both rooms. My hardship is finding a workspace to do the work i need to do in the room. I work outside my rooms when I can ... but have a small storage and workspace in the room,

BTW .... what cad system is that modeled in?

I'm using Google sketchup. The price is right.
I'll be splitting this room up. The question is what size rooms to make? The window probably has to go. My initial thoughts are to keep the higher ceiling to allow the hot air to rise, and place a filter and exhaust fan right up at the peak.

I'm still scratching my head on how best to use the space. Although I think I'm getting closer.

I've got a couple of options sketched up.
Both designs have an entry into a work area.
Right now I'm leaning toward the second floor plan. It gives me a larger work area and works around the sloped ceilings a bit better. It also gives me a larger work room.
The first one has much more room for me to get into the bloom room and work the plants. I could also probably shrink the veg room down a bit if I needed to
No matter what the design ends up being I will be using an ebb and flow system and LED lighting (probably from Dorm Grow).

^^^Dam I didn't know you could do all that using google sketchup; i'ma hafta get on that, like now......Thanks brotha goodluck with your build; I like the 1st design the best, plus it gives you the extra room to trim and what not; might hafta dry in another space if your doing perpetual though.......take it easy

Ohiofarmer, thanks! I think you are right, #1 seems to be the best use of the space with plenty of room to move around the plants as they bloom. Hadn't thought about drying. I'll have to work on making a small closet to dry in.
