Starting week 8 flower, when to flush.

Morning everyone, I am starting week 8 of flower, does this look ready to flush m or should I push it another week or so. I've ordered a jewellers loupe but it's not arrived yet.

Looks really close to me, but I’d probably give it a little more time if you can. A lot of pistils have turned, but without the loupe I’d still lean maybe another week or so rather than flushing right now. Frosty as hell though

Never.

There are scientific studies showing that you don't gain any yield or raise any levels of cannabinoids in your flowers and in blind tests smokers appreciate the non-flushed flowers more. I say it's a myth and even my AI assistant agrees, and she don't agree with me on a lot of things.

Some really nice frost there! I just have a couple questions before I can respond properly. What medium are you growing in? What nutrients are you feeding? And based on those answers, what are you expecting or hoping to gain through flushing?

Depending on your medium, flushing may be nothing close to what you think it is, and may not be necessary at all.

Growing in Coco, just used A and B with a bit of cal mag throughout.
Simply flushing a week or so before chopping to save on the A and B for the final week or so.

That makes perfect sense. No need in wasting nutrients the plant doesn't need. So from about week 7 you start tapering off the nutrient strength to match a diminishing demand... and your final watering 24 hours before harvest can be straight water.

With your taper you want to keep the ratio exactly the same (mix nutrients the same) and then dilute it down to a lower EC. Week 8 should be sitting at around 1.0-1.2 so starting around week 7 you're shaving off about 150-200ppm (0.3-0.4 EC) a week through harvest. And then final day straight water... This is what a good flush in coco looks like. Starving the plant for a week is an old school approach.
