Hey everyone, I'm new to growing and new here. I'm less stressed than I was a week or so ago but still stressed/inpatient because I have no clue what I'm doing. I know my plants have a deficiency I'm just not sure which deficiency or how exactly to treat it so I was hoping to get some help!

Not to steal illumanazi’s thunder but you could dim the light

Plant is pretty hungry. What is that, happy frog? Looks like it may be coco too tho
It’s coco coir. Okay so the light is too high?

It appears. What intensity and height?

Are you feeding? If so, what?
The light is 3ft away but it’s at 80%. The plants are technically almost 4weeks old but I over watered and had the environment extremely too hot for the first week or so so it’s been a doozy. I turned the lights up to 80% a couple days ago. I’m feeding general hydroponics flora trio every other watering but I think I started feeding too late.

Oh jesus christ. Yea, take that down to like 30 or 40%

Your plant is burning through nutes because the amount of light

I highly doubt you overwatered coco with that much perlite.
What ec you feeding at

Youre still in good shape dude, coco gets hungry and responds quickly

Idk what my EC is. I haven’t tested it. I think I overwatered when they were in the solo cups but they were starting to become root bound so that could have been what I was seeing. M

I dont think you were root bound. You can finish entire grows in 6 oz container with coco if your ph/ec is right. Did you have drain holes in the cup?

Youre gonna need a ph and ec pen if youre bottle feeding coco. You can get them pretty cheap on amazon. Its essential, especially with a nutrient line that doesnt self buffer

You are in good hands. Stokes speaks wisdom. Do what he says, trust 😍 . EC and pH pens are 100% essential for coco growing with bottled nutes IMO. Water needs to be the right EC so they aren't hungry/overfed, and correct pH for your plant to uptake nutrients as coco has no buffers to correct pH like living soil. Without being able to test these things you are totally in the dark and nobody will be able to tell you if your EC and pH is correct.
Edited to add, EC or PPMs is the amount of nutrients dissolved in the water essentially. There is more science to it but that's an easy explanation. I used a large EC wand at first, but it broke so I swapped to a PPM meter. PPM is Parts Per Million, but they both measure the same thing.

Yes, I had drain holes and the roots started growing out the bottom. I have a PH pen which I regularly use and an EC pen I just haven’t had enough water to test because I haven’t been watering to run off.

It’s the ac infinity 2x4 grow light

There are people who dont water to runoff, or atleast dont do it every time. I do it every time. But tbh i would say to do it atleast every other feeding. Otherwise salts build up and the plant dehydrates, and wont absorb nutrients. An ec pen also helps when mixing up nutes, as companies tend to tell you to overfeed your plants.

Have you checked out that coco for cannabis book? Its pretty cheap on amazon iirc. Its a must read. Theres probably much more detailed information regarding coco, but its an excellent place to start

GOOD! That is great to hear!!! You already have them!

EC and PPM are the same thing but they are just differently measured, and I used an EC meter up until it broke, they're great. On your feeding chart there should be a section where it explains pH, PPM/EC. This is my old nutrient line I used to use, do you see the part I outlined with a red rectangle under the "Week"s? You should have some kind of feed chart similar to this, and it should have EC/PPM and pH and what both should be.

Can you post your feeding chart if you have one?

Yea I’ve definitely been diluting the nutrients I give because of that. Thanks for uploading this, it is helpful.

That image you posted looks like a decent enough guide, and it looks similar to the kind of guide I was given by a hydroponics store when I first started. Eventually I lost mine and went to the brands version of chart and started at 1/2 strength. On your guide it says to water with no nutes every other water, this is also what my guide said, but some people say its better to dilute the nutes a bit and feed coco every single water to 20-25% runoff, just like Stokes said.

Have you been sticking to the guide exactly or have you been diluting the dose they suggested? I only ask because the hand made guide my store gave me (complete with penciled instructions just like yours) worked on the idea that the exact amounts listed in the chart would put my water at the exact right EC or a little below so a beginner wouldn't mess it up. pH however you will have to adjust with pH UP/DOWN. Did he tell you anything you can repeat when he gave you that guide?
