Tent temp is 21c
RH 40%

Seeds placed in Miracle grow seed starter mix.

No nutes yet, have liquid kelp on standby.

So initially i believed i had over watered in the little seed starting trays i had so I transplanted rhem to a dryer mix.

this is about 2 weeks growth maybe more.

Notice the curled leaves, they feel really dry to the touch.

I had ordered seeds from my usual online retailer with not very good germination results. The three below are what i ended up with

1. Your soil is too wet, don’t water again until it’s completely dry.
2. Your humidity is quite low for seedlings, if possible, raise it to 65-70%.
3. At a glance, your seedlings look a bit leggy, you might want to lower your light to 22-20 inches. Or, for more accuracy, you could calculate PPFD and DLI using the Photone app and 80 gsm paper. In the first two weeks, I’d aim for a DLI of 12-16 for my seedlings.

Good luck!

Ok Great Thanks! Would the dryness in the leaves be from the low humidty or the intensity of the light?

I think it’s because of the low humidity. In the first week, seedlings mainly grow by taking in moisture through their stomata. Higher humidity makes stomata open wider, and vice versa. Since you’re growing in a plastic pot and looking at your soil condition, you probably don’t need to water for about a week or so.

Ya i was going to put a larger dome over the entire tray. I could add some containers of water to try and boost humidity in the tents. I'll have to wait on a humidifier

That should be okay if you can't make it more higher. Let it sit for a couple of days and make changes based on the plant’s condition.

Okay, then let her do the rest. Basically, seedlings only need water through moisture, which they mostly get from their leaves. At this stage, her main focus is anchoring the taproot to the bottom of the pot. Good luck!
