So Jimmy when it comes to your SSH plants which way did they lean? I guess I never really thought about the different phenos available in the SSH line. It's gonna have Haze no matter what, but was it so stable that most phenos are the same? I would be interested to see what could be unearthed so to speak with future filials. It would be nice to score a pheno that leans to the Skunk side or the NL side! What would you say is the "keeper" in SSH?

Cheers,
Crom

Crom,
My SSH mom and dad came out of a pack of Mr Nice SSH from 2005. I was surprised at how much variation I found...so I wouldn't say that it is all that stable as far as finding uniform females. Even though it has been around for a while, it's still a 3-way hybrid so variation is to be expected.
2 females were very very hazey...took forever and stretched to the moon. Also had a nice thai pheno, but it took 16 wks to finish.
Since these are f2's you will have variation, no doubt. But since the parents were so similar in traits, you may find the phenos pretty close to each other.
What determines a "SSH keeper" is really personal choice...whatever you like. :)

Thanks again Jimmy! Yeah I was just wondering if there was a coveted pheno from MNS SSH. I'm sure they are all good phenos like you said it is what YOUR looking for that makes a keeper. I really don't want to keep mothers that need 16 weeks though, so I'll search for a faster finisher. I too am surprised that SSH "F1"s have that much variation. Eh, either way I'm sure the F2s will be nice! Have a great day Jimmy!

Cheers,
Crom

freegrow...I would keep the ppms a little lower than you would with most plants. Mostly keep an eye on the nitrogen...a little can go far with haze-dom plants.
Just start feeding a little less than usual and see what they want. If the leaves start to claw then you know you have overfed and should ramp it down.

Sup Jimmy,

just won Holy Smoke on the bay.
stoked to run her, haven't seen any journals.

what can i expect in terms of stretch? feeding tendencies? variations? etc.

Not sure if i'll run a separate journal from my main thread or the cheese test, but perhaps.

maybe i'll run it w/ the SSSage or the TWSFV...or all!! decisions decisions.

It all depends on the pheno, but most lean to the MK side which is rock solid, easy to grow. MK is one of those plants that almost grows itself.>>too much fert/too little fert, hot/cold...it doesnt seem to matter, it just keeps truckin'. If you get a pheno that leans heavy to the SSH then you might want to go easier on the nutes, sativas are more sensitive to overfertilization. A local friend test grew these for me I never saw any phenos that leaned that much to the fathers side, just plants that ranged from 50/50, to phenos that were almost clones of the MK.
