Hello i from south Cali and me and a few friend plan on close to new years take a trip up to northen cali to meet and learn from exp growers so i can take this knowledge back with me. So i am posting trying to find out what shops i should stop on the way and try some of the Farms NOCAL favorite places to go on the daily. Also Growers that have extra space for about four people where we could crash on the floor and you show me a couple neat tricks to help my harvest and better quility maybe even can come back and get a few clones or beans. I dont mind compesating you guys for this however it wouldnt be that much but at least something you know.

so let me know

Hi OgOnSteriods. Welcome to the farm! Do you know anyone personally up north? A lot of people do what you're talking about and when I go visit my Mendo/Humboldt friends, I see all kinds of young folks on the streets with cardboard signs, if you get my drift. Large growers aren't apt to take in one, let alone four unknown people, if they haven't been robbed themselves then they know someone who has. Also, those tips and tricks came at a cost, and they'll expect you to pay your dues before they give you their hard-earned information. Paying dues means doing a lot of time and with some getting your tit put through the wringer.

There may be someone here willing to give what you propose a try, but please understand that from the grower's perspective it's pretty insane.

Coming from an experienced grower who always needs a helping hand, I would never feel comfortable about bringing in anyone who is unknown to me.
My best advice is to go to norcal during harvest time and try to find some outdoor guys that need help and go from there.

Best of luck

i do agree it sounds really crazy. But you never know until you at least try. I was really hoping i could find a old schoole hippe who not hung up on how much money they make but more about the medicine you know. Someone who only good vibes and want to pass some of there knowledge down i dont mind getting hands dirty and working either. maybe they need there shed clean for exchange for info or be even better if they allowed me to assist in setting up grow room . I dont plan to be out that way for two long maybe a weekend

The problem is that we who grow are all too familiar with rippers. Hell, I myself was hit in a home invasion robbery, and I absolutely do not make my living doing this. But others can, ya dig?

Beyond that, you're basically asking for trade secrets to be shared, and to get that much from someone usually requires that a good relationship has been carefully developed. That can start at a place like the farm here, it's how I've met almost all the other growers I know. But, it's taken years. :)

I`ve been flooded with offers of help and even some financial help getting my forest property done and starting back up my seed breeding/vending. I`ve been ripped off before and as much as I`d like the help and would love to intern some younger people with the years of experience I have, it`s just to big a risk ! I wouldn't` mind having a small group of people that I got to know spend some time helping and learning at some point but as Seamaiden pointed out they would have to work their asses off just to gain my trust before I`d even consider that! I wouldn't` even except a 100 grand cash to have someone stay with me at my grow site I didn't` know ! Now 250 grand and I`ll think about it !

If your just doing a weekend. Check out the B&B called HowardCreekRanch, it's a freaking hidden jewel. Then goto the dispensary in mendo , nearby called Herban Legend, they have fire and local norcal clones of high pedigree. Have fun.
Peace

The internet is full of experienced growers that share growing tricks. However, traveling to NorCal in the winter hoping to find a mentor sounds like an impossible task.
