I have a chance to get a 4x4 setup dirt cheap. The more I look at the footprint it just seems huge. My goal is to grow 3 autos at a time for me to grow over the winter months. Googling my query I came up with to many answers. Also it seems that allot of them talk about min 650 watts of light for a 4x4. Why does this seem so crazy?

It's 75 bucks for a complete 4x4 set up. Also wants me to take a bunch of hydro stuff. I don't know how old it is or why he stopped using it.

The tent alone is probably worth more than $75. I would buy it.

You could always use less space than what you have in the tent, it won't hurt.

This guy, Shane has lots of great information on his YouTube channel and does lots of comparison videos. He has a video where he explains the reasons behind running higher wattage lights. I didn’t see that video but thought this would be helpful.

You could do 3 or 4 autos at a time in a 4x4. It depends on how you grow them. My rule of thumb is one plant per four square feet, so that's 4 in a 4x4.

For typical LED light or lights, 480 watts would be about right for a 4x4.

Hey philly......just a thought.......

Too much room?

I promise you this....

If you get that size, 2 months down the road, you'll be wishing you would have gotten 2 or 3 of them......

Just think of Pringles........

Ditto everything @LoveGrowingIt wrote. I have a 40” x 40” and constantly wish I’d bought a 4x4. Mine’s 11 sf and I squeeze in 3 photoperiods. And my light is a 480w LED, so a bit overpowered for now, but when I get that 4x4…..🎃

It’s a decenting opinion but you should go with a multi chambered 5x5. Something like this. Give you 4x3.5 for the main area and a 1.5x4 area for veg or clones. It allows you to have multiple growth stages at once. And I bet you down the road you will want to try your hand at cloning.

Hell yeah. I have the Vivosun 4x5 which looks identical to that. 4x4 grow area with separate 1x4 with a shelf for seedling/clones. About 6'6" tall so lots of height too. It's a great setup. I've already got the bug and have started cloning. Had to buy a second small tent already and I want another big one.

My thinking is go as big as you have space for (as long as you can afford to buy lights) so there's always room to grow
