thanks for the input, too early to be normal trichome ambering, there's virtually none on the plant anywhere yet

Its around 6 or 7 weeks and they're going to go about a hundred days

When I zoomed in with the microscope it was some kind of blobs of Goo stuck to the trichomes

Plus it jumped out at me it had an unusual shine under the HPS that I've never seen before

I know the picture doesn't illustrate it that well but that was the best pic I could get

Agree that it doesn't look like it came from within but beyond that I have no idea or even any hypothesis beyond just a sprinkle of water that had a bit of molasses or something. Weird.

It does have a molasses-like texture, or like clear brown hash oil, but it definitely isn't from inside the trichome like I first thought

Unfortunately the picture doesn't really show this but it's either a blob from a bug or I can't think of what could have possibly splashed that had that color and texture

I don't have anything like that in the garden room and I don't feed molasses?

I might be worrying about nothing but I've never seen this before and it shined oddly under the light, initially looked like a premature banana or an immature white seed cuz it had a white-ish glow to which is the only reason I noticed something so small, so I was surprised to see that it was brown under the microscope

I'm completely lost on this one; Occam's razor would make it some type of bug excrement I suppose

Worth watching it if nothing else. My guess is nothing else will come of it, but idk.

I tagged the bud & will keep an eye on it, didn't see any more like this anywhere else but I really didn't have time to examine it, was just before lights out, I'll check next watering

UPDATE:

Indian Bubblegum transplant

So a couple of top leaves on my smallest plant ironically were doing a reverse canoe thing so thinking that these behemoths have overgrown their 3 gallon hard buckets I transplanted the bubblegum this morning into a 5-gallon grobag

You can scroll back to see my rants and reasons why I dont like these fucking grow bags; suffice to say I'm not a fan

Been growing a minute in soil now so I don't make too many bad moves, but I made one this morning

As big as that plant was it's nowhere near rootbound, the roots were not even beginning to circle, they had barely reached the pot; I've yet to see a root bound plant

now for my efforts I've got a saggy dirty bag that leaks and is more inclined to fall over

Needless to say the other bigger plants will not be getting transplanted at this point

Edit: the transplant procedure itself was flawless; carefully laid the plant across my work table, the pot slipped right off, placed it into the grow bag on about 3 inches of soil and some mykos, quickly backfilled & watered it, so I'm not expecting any transplant shock Transplanted right before lights off

Didn't have to water this morning so I didn't pull it out to examine it but I didn't see any more of those weird spots shining at me like I did yesterday, tomorrow morning I'll have a better look when I pull it out to water

I was wrong above about that plant not being root bound..!

I really wish I had 'before' shots because I'm having trouble believing what I'm seeing from just 24 hours ago?!

Transplanted an Indian Bubblegum yesterday because I was seeing reverse canoes on quite a few upper leaves happening all of a sudden over just a few days

But if you read above as soon as I slipped the pot off it didn't look root-bound at all, I almost put the 3-gallon pot back on it and not transplant it at all

But this morning to my amazement almost all of the reverse canoed leaves were absolutely normal looking!!

Had to poke around to find two or three leaves still canoed to get that picture above

What I've learned:

I was watching these sequoias closely for signs of being root bound, and when all my readings were perfect one week after another yet the leaves were reverse-canoeing I took that as a sign of being root bound..

..and I was correct!

But (there's always a but LOL) but when I saw the roots I would have bet the ranch that the reverse canoeing wasn't caused by being rootbound, good thing I don't gamble!

Sorry for going on but this is my first time in five years of soil growing that I've dealt with being root bound

But I would not be surprised if on a few of my earlier grows of larger plants I also had some issues from being rootbound which I may wrongly have attributed to other factors?

Anyway 2 more will be transplanted; they got spread out and several bamboo sticks were added, taken out and adjusted today so in other words they got a good jostling during there feeding today and both also required routine flushing today

I was going to transplant one today & one tomorrow, but because of all the handling today I held off; Will transplant one tomorrow and the last one Saturday

The good news is there was no transplant shock on the one I did yesterday, in fact it looked incredible! To see 99% of the reverse-canoed leaves straightened out was both surprising and encouraging!

I still hate grow bags LOL I'm going to grab a few 5 gallon hard pots next time I'm up the hydro store ~Thanks for reading

I use straight coco. Holds moisture longer . Roots take off after about a week. No hormones, or gel. Cut straight from plant, cut at 45 over the pot stick her in. Been 100% successful on the last 12 clones. Past I used shark bite gel rooting hormones and seed starter mix. Had more die offs. From holding to much water.

Anyway this black dog is maybe not the tallest but by far the bushiest thickest plant, got a dozen bamboo sticks in it and I could use a dozen more if I had them, add them to my hydro store list I guess better still stop growing these freaking big plants

Anyway this thing is floppy as wet noodles it's got probably 10 million tops on it & could easily fill a three-by-three' maybe bigger scrog net

If I'm honest this is the one that I've been dreading of the three that will be be transplanted

Won't happen till just before lights out and I won't be trying to adjust the sticks or anything today it will get done as outlined above, put in the tent & wired to the post so it doesn't fall because I don't trust grow bags and then at lights on tonight I'll reassess & adjust LOL

Not going to lie transplanting these big plants mid flower is a bit stressful, at least this one's going to be, pretty sure the small amount of magnesium deficiency I'm seeing on a few bottom leaves are caused by the rootbound issue because everything else is in order

Today I'll try to remember to grab a few pictures but this is going to be the sloppiest one so maybe not, nobody wants to see the sausage being made LOL

@Jamie73 I dip in clonex gel and then into white rooting powder and then I put them into small pots of my seed starting mix, then that sits in half an inch of weak nutrient solution, haven't worked with rockwool

Houston we have a problem!

So this is the worktable I sat it on..

Immediately after I took this picture of the roots and turned to plug my camera back in to turn the music back on..

Disaster!

I didn't see it but she basically slid more than fell, but fall she did! She ended up on the floor about three feet behind the table

Slid right off of the little work table and hit the ground behind the grow bag, would have been better had she landed on the bag of dirt but of course that couldn't happen thanks to Murphy's Law.

There was virtually no visible damage and no dirt or chunks broke off and there was no deformation of the root ball, she basically slid thank God it's not like when you drop a hard pot and there's that impact and shock to the roots I'm not expecting much of a problem, if any &

I knew something would happened to this one! LOL you might sense the apprehension in my post above, never considered this scenario though

anyway it's done, I'll know soon if it's going to damage it and to what extent but nothing I can do now till the lights come back on, and very little I can do even then, so forget about it is all I can do now

Not too bad considering I dropped her about 3 ft yesterday!?

Pretty sure I've got her tropism backwards but she'll fill in fine, it's probably not a bad thing in the long run. Their number marker always faces the light but I took it out to transplant, but I like her the way she is right now; I'll spread her out a little bit after she rests another day or so

No transplant for Mazzy Star today, she looks fine & her numbers are perfect, but she will be getting transplanted too, probably in the morning - just not right now

The reek of Mazzy Star has far eclipse anything I've grown so far, including the black dog; she smells like rotting grapes in the sun and some kind of a strange glue/fuel mix
