You must have one of those nice new efficient woodstoves! Mine is older than I am, and guzzles Downwood like an old steam locomotive!! Been thinking about shelling out a couple grand for a nice one!

These are still about the same size as last Saturday's pics

They're healthy but they just sit there

I’m not sure, but it looks like they’re flowering! Probably not gonna get a whole hell of a lot bigger, unfortunately! But maybe you won’t have to spray them as much either! Hope I’m wrong about the flowering!

It’s a newer one, probably 20 yrs old now. Had one I got from my parents it was probably 35 yrs old, burned great and heated great. After rebuilding it many times, welding cracked panels, cast welds terrible, I got a new Vermont casting stove. Doesn’t burn as good or heat as good. Still the best heat!

No sense in posting more cannabis pictures because these plants haven't noticeably changed, they just sit there (I'll post one from Sunday so that you can see I'm at least keeping them healthy)

I planted sprouted garlic bulbs around them the other day so at least the 40 ft where I had hoped to grow decent cannabis isn't a total waste

Decided I'm going to add two or 300 square feet to the main garden next year and likely abandon the field garden that abuts the Hayfields, it's just too wild out there with the bugs & overgrowth, and I didn't put down ground cloth this year so the weeds are taking over everything but the eggplant, which I weed every few days.

My gardening experience is square-foot gardening in my little postage stamp sized backyard back at 'the beachhouse' and you've seen the massive yields that I've posted here under @Beachwalker from them, but it's a lot different gardening out in the middle of a Hayfield like here.

I've got some ground cloth on order, I'm never planting a garden without it again. So tired of weeding

Come on, oh, Merciful One! Give them a stay! Isn’t it getting too late to plant anything else anyway? I think it’s grown a tiny bit! Just getting ready to take off!

Same here for the last 3 winters, although I do have propane backup, it will come on when it's down around zero or below, and run once or twice an hour but that's about it. I've only used 10% of one tank so far

I used 4 1/2 cords my first 2 years and 3 1/2 last year, so that's around 4 cords a year that I go through

I still have the cheese sitting out on the deck in a paper bag LOL I don't know what the hell to do with it I reckon I'll freeze it and shake it in my pollen separator at some point before it degrades much further

Wow, we usually go through about 3/4 cord a year but last year we went through 1 1/2 cord. Cold, wet winter. We're due to have 3 or 4 warm dry winters or more in a row and I'm ready. I really don't like those every decade or so winters. Had one just like it in '71 when I had a paper rout on my bike. Wrapped more papers in plastic that year then ever so I don't wanna hear any BS warming or the next ice age coming. Been there, done that

Boy, isn’t that a blast from the past! Back when kids on bikes, used to do paper routes! My brother had one! I was 17 and had a license! So Sometimes I would give him a ride, and we would get loaded and throw papers! He was 14 or 15! He used to use his paper route money to buy pounds of seedy Colombian! L O L! He used to have to collect and wore one of those little changemakers on his belt! Ha ha ha ha!

Not long ago I saw a grower concern that they were predicting 6 in. of rain in their area for the month of August, wondering about coverings

We got this in the last 36 hours

I think that translates into about 4 feet of snow! You’re having a regular summer blizzard! At least the wildlife will have plenty to fatten up on before winter! Are those autos making their big push yet? Or did you lose it and stomp them into the ground?

This was just drizzle! Last year we got 5 and 1/2 in. over a weekend, some areas set records

Speaking of wildlife, out of the countless deer I've seen since I've been here I've seen only two males, and they were very young with just the beginning of horns

yesterday a big pregnant female was eating my blackberries and I was yelling at her to leave and she was just looking at me, so I whistled really loud with my fingers then walked from one end of the house to the other to yell at her out a window which was closer

In the 5 seconds or so it took me to get there a huge male with at least 4 points was standing right behind her!

I think he thought that my whistle was her in distress or whatever but this big son of a gun meant business! He walked her right back into the woods

I'm not a hunter, I'm a city boy but a friend of mine who hunts told me that the males are always right there watching, and she was right!
