try lightly sanding the shell,then do your h202 soak,then rinse and paper towel ,baggy...I use 3% Hydrogen Peroxide mixed 1:10 with RO water for a disinfectant rinse. But I've been trying to pop improperly stored 30 year old plus seeds. So far I'm only getting tap roots and then they dud out.
For new seeds I just soak them in water and into a paper towel.

you'd have to put a top on a solo cup,then sink a tiny net pot into the top,roots grow into cup,res...lol. This is how it all went tits up last time if I remember rightly.DrMcSkunkins, I have my solo airo cup ready to go. Do you approve?

I burned the holes into the cup with a micro torch and a steel probe. My idea is to keep the cup in a neoprene can cooler during light hours so not to dry out too much. And remove the cooler sleeve during the dark hours. I was also thinking of a hempy style cup.:)Damn dude we are in the same page how did you drill the holes with out busting a cup lol

Well what I was thinking is, if you made it clear that seeds dont hit any moisture until the 15th this would eliminate some from trying to get a leg up like having tails cracked on the 13 giving them a day or 2 head start. I am being a tad anal as I dont really think this would be a huge edge by any stretch.Im trying to be as laid back as possible on this one, if anyone has any better suggestions on rules by all means chime in and I will ammend the rules.
So I guess Im asking, does the 15th denote the bean hits the dirt or paper towel or whatever means the grower uses on the 15th or can the bean be pre- germed/cracked on the day it goes into the solo cup media.?
In addition you may want to limit attempts at germination say best out of 3 beans. If after 3 tries and no sprouts that would effectively cancel that contestant. So pick your beanz wisely. :) Overall no matter the rulez it will be difficult to really enforce as we are all in cyberspace and no way to know if peeps are being honest. It is human nature to want to have an edge of a competitor. And really this is all about the fun !!!

I plan on planting my Fem seed the morning of the 15th. I know I won't be vegging the 60 plus days that I normally do! I think I will be finishing right around 80 days total.

ok so we can have more than one plant in this right? because with a short veg it might be hard to tell sex on seed plants,maybe we should just allow clones? a plant in a cup is still a plant in a cup no matter if its reg,auto,clone after 6 weeks its a bitch to keep em watered lol.also we should have a seperate thread just for plant updates so the pictures dont get burried in 50 pages of bs,keep this one or make a new one for shit chat and have one just fo da cup-o-dank porn ?

ya no doubt. Veg time wilkl be important if there is to be a deadline for the contest. Knowing the strain and how long you can veg for and still hit the finish line will be key!!!!I plan on planting my Fem seed the morning of the 15th. Should be fine,i have grown plants in clear mason jars no problem. @Seamaiden has done it as well i thinkby the way should i tape these see through blue solo cups, or will the blue tint be enough.

This is the original. Let's not stray to far from these rules. Eh?Rules are as follows
Plant must be grown from seed in a 16oz or smaller plastic disposable "red" type drinking cup and not be transplanted and must stay in the cup for it's entire growth cycle.
No cutting a giant hole in the bottom and letting the roots grow beyond the cup.
You may use any media you choose, coco, dirt, perlite, wood chips, whatever
Autos and photos will be allowed but there will be a time limit so flipping before time runs out will be key if using a photo seed.
Auto watering drippers are welcome and will probably be key near the end of flower unless you can water multiple times a day.
I haven't thought about dates but I was planning on giving a week or two to see how many wanted to participate and then anounce when the start and end time for planting seeds will be after everyone checks in.
Let me know if you want to join in by posting and telling us what type of media and seed you will be using or any feedback/suggestions on the thread or ideas.
