Cheesy States of Cannabis

This will be my place of residence. I like the idea of having a continuous journal of all my grows along with an open line of communication with the community. I'll be posting everything here instead of making individual threads. I don't mind answering questions. Opinions and criticism are welcome as long as you dont crush my poor little feelings doing it. Watch this thread and follow me to stay updated.

Some eye candy to start this off. This is the result of my first autoflower grow. Its a GMO auto from Atlas Seed. Severely stunted early but I got my shit together and she finished strong in my opinion. 80 something days from sprout to harvest.

This is the current setup and what Im using. Im growing in an apartment bedroom with no window. Temps are trying to be controlled by the apartments hvac system. The important word is try. Lets just say temp and rh% is a constant dance for optimal but almost always in acceptable ranges.

This is a sour diesel auto that Ive been paying a little more attention. Starting day 3 and finishing at the end of day 8. Pics weren't taken with the intention of a time lapse/slide show but figured it would be better than having people scroll.

My recipe for success with autoflowers. New growers can use this just as its described and have success. With experience you'll probably start making changes and playing with things.

Step 1. Prepare the soil.
3 parts gaia green living soil 1 part worm castings.
Pre amended with a 50/50 ratio of gaia green all purpose and power bloom at the recommended dose.
6" diameter and 6" deep center gets a recommended dose of mycorrhizal inoculum mixed in.

Step 2. Germinate the seed.
I float my seeds in a cup of water until they have a tap at least a 1/4". make sure its in a warm and dark place.
Once it has a tap root you need to finish the soil. completely saturate your pot from top to bottom.
Place seed tap down with a touch mykos in the hole and carefully cover with no more than 1/2" of soil.
Add a few drops water on the location being careful not to disturb the seed.
Place a humidity dome over until you see the sprout emerging then remove.

Step 3. Control your environment.
Get the gauges, meters, and equipment you need to keep things in check.
Monitor your Ph, temp, RH, and PPFD.
Try to maintaining optimal VPD and DLI

Step 5. Watering.
Once the sprout emerges let the soil dry back until the pot is light and the top 1" to 1 1/2" is dry.
Use this dry back and guage of when to water the whole life of the plant.
Ive given a 1/2 gal of dechlorinated tap water at 6.2-6.8ph since that first dry back as a sprout.
Every other watering or so Ill give the trays 4-6 cups to absorb from the bottom.
Around week 2 I give them 1/2 gal of Recharge on the top and 1/2 in the trays.
As the plant gets older I might need to increase the amount of water. The idea is to water everyday or other day.

Step 6. LST and defoliation.
Start as early as the plant lets you.
Keep the branches growing horizontal and evenly spread out.
Remove as little of the leaves as possible.
I usually only remove the leaves on the top of the branches growing towards the center of the canopy.
Any leaves that can be tucked under or behind that new growth needs to be done every day if not multiple times a day.
The goal is for all new growth to have direct exposure to the lights.
Continue LST into the "stretch" using your judgement when enough is enough.

Step 7. Top dress early flower.
Using a mix of 70/30 power bloom to all purpose at the recommended dose. To that ill add an equal amount of worm castings.
The mixture gets spread around the pot evenly and then mixed into the top few inches of the soil by hand.
You then water it in to start the process of breaking that down. Im going to use Recharge to water in. Using the same 1/2 and 1/2 method.

Step 8. Continue watering until harvest.

Update on the ER patient. She is fighting back. That leaf looks bad and the tips are dry but not brittle. BUT yesterday it was just laying down and today it is trying to perk up.

She is re-hydrating that leaf. And that main cola is no longer top dawg. Since the break those other tops have been putting in work.

@Greenadian You were very confident she was going to be okay so I'll ask you. This thought just came to me and its a little late. In a situation like this break is it safe to remove those wilting leaves? Maybe not immediately but after she shows initial recovery? The thought is that she wont need to use the energy recovering those leaves and focus on the important stuff.

Edit. Anyone chime in with thoughts or even better answers.

Well tonight Im finishing up my supply from the first grow. Ive been smoking on it for 3-3 1/2 weeks. And my yield was pretty subpar from 2 plants.

Some money numbers for anyone reading this and wondering for their selves. I started from nothing and bought everything I needed for my first grow at once. Like all the little things needed for seed to cure. I went medium low budget and it cost me roughly $900-1000. Ive spent more since but for that first harvest it was say $1000. My personal habits cost me about $120-150/week at the dispensary. Lets say $150 times 3 plus weeks. Thats around $500 I saved with a average/below avg harvest. rough math here not including all costs. One harvest paid for half or a third of the investment.

Leafs dont recover soo she will eat them until the end if ahe decides they are not worth it

It looked and felt like it was re hydrating. Even perking up spreading the fingers.

Edit: I meant that in more of a question. Like why is it doing those things if she is going to eat it?

How many watts is that lamp? Usually anything you buy you pay off with first harvest. Maybe those autos are low yielders

Have to keep the food fresh.leaf is still working even when she is eating it
