Imagine that, regrafting the whole plant again on another root base, graft a male onto the plant, flip, let it pollinate all 40-50 strains, cut off the male, and wait for the seed harvest all in one plant

Now THAT sounds like a HYDRA for real haha

Can’t wait to see the cement shoes again you gotta make a new round of seeds if you find some bonkers keepers

Thank you! It’s a lot of fun!

So far both of the grafts are still alive, one is doing much better than the other but that’s OK 1 is the goal, we’ll keep watching!

Oh my brother in law would never let it go belive me haha

And to that we have added 2 frostettes! They are both up and happy and rockin, so we’re up to 4 successful grafts now!

It’s about time for a big cut back of the kahuna 3 plant to let those start spreadin out

Happy update!, all the grafts look great, did a massive cut back on the Rootstock (kahuna 3) left one ya node like the grafts and I’ll let the rest stack some nice fat lowers to receive future grafts, big top dress to veg on and now to let her rip for a bit and let those grafts beef up to full healthy clone potential

Back with another update! New growth is defenitly pushing on all 4 grafts and the mother plant, looking to see some nice dark green lushy growth all around over the next week or so, carefully watering making sure she’s around 25-35% on the meter I don’t bother much with EC just water and some organic amendments and some big mikes OG tea by advanced nutrients

Almost outta that, just working through inventory, I gotta do a synthetic run eventually I got a bunch of different kinds of neuts still I don’t wanna waste

I have not forgotten about her! She’s doing great haha, the grafts are overtaking the plant itself, growth is taking off on them now, you can see the difference in size on all 4 grafts, great new growth, I had the light at 50% around 350ppfd but it was a bit much backed it down yesterday to 40% around 275ppfd and they are looking much happier

What’s up everyone! It’s update time for the hydra! Figured I’d make a quick video of her and what I do to feed a plant like this, it’s really effortless and I’m holding 4 strains in one little plant, that number will soon be drastically increasing if everything goes as planned I wanna see about 20 on here, then I’ll replicate with a new base mother to freshen it up and even everything out, at that point I’ll probably flower this current one and see a hell of a show, but u til then we continue collecting!

But first I smoked a nice fat bowl of Frostette topped with Frostette dry sift and a nice pancake of kahuna 2 bubble hash topper

Hope everyone’s having a stoned day!

Wow have these grafts ever grown, they were around 4” long at graft, 2 were less than 2.5” they are near 14” long of new growth, starting to bush out nice on each strain, the shorty is just a bit shorter but is grafted to a lower the rest were grafted about mid height on the plant canopy

Growth is excellent, across the board I’ll start getting her set up to take another strain or 2 for a few to add once I get em and start em

Let’s get it goin folks!

Kahuna #3 as the rootstock mother, once rooted shell have a cut of the Frostette #6, ABO #1/#2, and Project 4516 x okie all grafted onto her to hold phenos until seed mother test runs are complete. I started this project awhile ago but paused due to plant count issue with the run I was on.

BUT WERE BACK! Let’s learn grafting and pheno storage techniques together!

Plant was put in to the kahuna 2 living soil 12 gallon pot in the spiderfarmer 3x3

The gear used in this tent will be

Soil
12 gallon bag
Promix HP
Rice Hulls
Build a Soil craft blend, big 6, Kashi blend, Horticultural Aloe
Organics Alive FPF
Alaska Fish Fertlizer (5-1-1)
And more!

Tent: Spiderfarmer white canvas 3x3
Controller: Genius grow system smart controller
Light: SE3000
Exhaust: 4” exhaust and carve on filter
Power supply: GGS AC10 power strip
Contoller accessories
GGS 4-in1 sensor pro kit (Co2/PPFD/RH/Temp/Soil Moistre /EC sensors)

Let’s goooooooo (again )

Where's your lab coat? you're doing this just incase one of the mother plants are the shit? EPIC!

I could see one plant having several graft strains as a single mom but I'd want to have at least two of them as I'd hate to lose several strains all at once And I'd love to see one of those plants flower I wonder if you'd be harvesting a branch at a time as each one finished in their usual time frame or would the mother plant comtrol their flowering? AND why am I not doing this

I do plan to replicate her again and freshen her up then flower this one out I think, once I have a few more strains on her, I have 2 coming up now copious and Max AC

Yeah it’s really like a placeholder to hang onto strains all in one place when you have a plant count limit so it works out nicely lol

Very good Mike!
That second picture really shows just how many branches and strains there really are! Looking solid brother! Cant wait to keep seeing it grow
Is it tough trying to evenly distribute that light on some of the slower lower branches?

so that was kinda my reasonign for such a large chop back, the frostettes were easily 14-16" taller than the rest of the plant, so i let them establish the grafts really nice and put out side branching on all strains. Once they were well esablished i chopped back a bit a few weeks ago, then let them veg a bit more, yesterday i brought it all down even so they have equal lighting, then stripped outthe interrior, the plant is about a year old and was a mother plant, she was the kahuna 3, my Frostette mother and Kahuna 2 mother went to my neighbor to flower out i was over there yesterday, hes got those 2 going and 4 Maui 86's from seed

luckly i grabbed some pics of most of them to show @Captspaulding so he can see a bunch of mauis flowered out

Yeah I definitely think you did really good on the defoliation but that makes sense, gotta make sure them fan leaves don’t cover anything and the branches go outwards more….. maybe something to think about if I ever try this, try keeping indicas with indicas and sativas with sativas or something lolol
