I have a 300g sample of their new recipe and I am going to try it next run over my Perfect Grower Nutrients(good but basically jacks split into 4 parts and more expensive) and I wanted to know if anyone has experience using it. It seems like a really good product and has mostly everything you need. I am going to add sea green, Mammoth P and a pk booster probably. Any thoughts on mega Crop or should I look towards something else?

I use and like it..switched from Canna terra with no regrets. The original product (up til last yr) was too lite on Calcium and needed a PK boost (I am still on that one); but the new product is supposed to have solved that issue(s)

There are other mentions on the Farm but start here:

yeah I have seen your post and was one of the reasons I want to try it out. Seems cheap but has basically everything you need except a bacteria/ fulvic combo and maybe a pk boost from what I can tell. Do you know when you usually start to see buds? With my perfect grower buds showed up a couple days later than when I ran AN bud blood

I also began using URB a few grows back..I still use Mycos, but only in Veg..The URB is too expensive for me in veg. With that said..I cut the Megacrop and ginormous 20% from their suggested maximum.

Buds appearing is normally strain and AGE dependent imo, and I don't really clock the beginning. Since the Plant's chemistry changes on the flip..I choose to begin the flowering count then.

I have heard of something that is like URB but a lot cheaper I just cant remember it right now :( Interesting, I did the same for my Perfect Grower nutes and my plants loved it. I am going to run Sea green with it as well and I am very interested to see how that is going to work out

Do you use a pk booster at all during flower? I am thinking of running one for mid to late flower

I do now with the OLD formula, but I see that Megacrop has increased the PK as well as calcium in the 2019 formula. I have a new sample, but am still using the old stuff (22lb bag left of that..LOL). If you have the new, plz tell us how it does. There are a few threads here and on other forums about the change.

yeah no sense in switching if you still have that much of the old stuff haha. I got a 300g sample of the new recipie so I will let you know how it works! The only thing it seems to need is amybe a pk booster just because the p and k ratio is a little off imo, and MAYBE cal mag but we will see. Using it with Sea green, mammoth P, and power si. If I use a pk booster I am leaning towards MOAB or ULtimate PK by mills for the added p boost without adding more N or micros

Any distinction in the packaging to tell if its the old recipe or the new one?

I have no idea, I have never seen the old packaging, the npk is 9-6-17 on mine and I got my free sample a couple of weeks after they said they updated their formula so that's the only way I know I got the new recipe. Nothing on the packaging says new formula from what i can tell. I used Perfect Grower before which is basically a 4 part jacks which worked well but I want to switch it up.

I purchased my bag recently, so I'll have to assume it's the new recipe. In fact I didn't know they switched recipes until I read some of these posts. I've been going off of old thread info when researching mega crop and reading it lacked calcium and magnesium. Folks in those threads recommended using additional cal/mag to supplement. So that has been good to know.

Similar to you, I've been trying to simplify what products to use and what's needed vs. what's money pit fluff. Ironically when watering some plants today, I was mulling over just using mega crop and seagreen throughout. And using PK 13/14 in week three of flower, followed by mammoth p in weeks 3,4, and 5. Essentially wondering if I can stop using King Kola, and Honey Chome all together once I've used up what I have and not using the cal/mag anymore. I'm not sure how beneficial the sugary, honey chome, "terp juice" really is and if it's truly necessary. Or if it really even works for that matter. The only other products not mentioned I might still use are Mykos when transplanting, Silica during veg, and root wizard (twice in veg and once last week of stretch.) Who knows, maybe I'll drop the silica and root wizard too at some point. But I try my best to focus more on good root development during veg over anything else. (At least I think I am. Who knows, maybe it's more snake oil and I'm not really doing shit and still wasting money. lol)

Also, since this is my first run using mega crop, I've been using it at 80% the recommended dosage. But I've learned my plants are still hungry thanks to some members here at the farm.. So just recently they've been getting the full dose and are starting to look better. I'm still in this process, so I'll need another week or two to get it sorted out and know for sure. I haven't had the time to finish a complete cycle (or two) of feeding more, and more frequently. Mine were only getting fed every 9th day. It was closer to a feed, water, water, type schedule. I'm switching it up to an alternating feed, water, feed, water schedule now.

Yes, it looks different and the old formula was: 9.7 - 5.5- 14

What I have found helpful is using a "bell shaped curve" for nutes..start off slow..reaching a peak at about week 5-6 and then gradually tapering off. These weeks are arbitrary and I watch the flowers/leaves when deciding when to bump/taper. I haven't decided what or how much to bump with the new stuff..Hell, with 22lbs of the old stuff, maybe my great grand kids will get a shot! LMFAO

Yeah I am trying to simplify in my tent because my warehouse has a lot of bottles to it but it definitely works. From what I have seen "terp" products like terpinator are just certain kinds of sugars with potassium sulfate. Terpinator definitely worked for me but it might just be because I lacked sulfur in my recipe. I use mammoth throughout flower and have found a positive effect rather than just using it for a few weeks. Megacrop or jacks 3-2-1 seems to be the bases to go with to simplify but I think to make it pretty much perfect adding a sillica, bene bacteria, and a combo pk booster like moab, green sensation or Ultimate pk to make things as simple but effective as possible. I am trying to do something similar to you, trying to simplify as much as possible while not loosing quality.

I run the old formula Ginormous..when that's done, I will switch to MOAB..no particular reason, since I have been doing fine with what I use..I would like to find one that is low in k though.

If you could remember what you saw what that was like the URB but cheaper..I would be grateful..I love it, but everything I saved by using megacrop now goes to URB (and probably more). I was lucky to have bought a gallon from a 3rd party vendor..cheap..before he got wise and raised the price.

I never used any Terpinator and with Megacrop, the colas need support earlier than they did with Canna Terra + Ginormous...not knocking Canna..I used it for a long time and it is great...just pricy.

It seems like URB is just something like recharge right? microbes with humic acid? I personally use og biowar for my beneficials if I just microbes in concentration. I saw something at my hydro store the other day called maxmicrobe that looked pretty concentrated as well but I did not see the price.

Yeah Canna is definitely a lot more expensive than megacrop. I have had great results with heavy 16 base with Big Bud and Overdrive but I want to find something a bit cheaper and simpler

You found it!

I tried a few others but not Recharge yet..The plants are visibly happier (I hate that word for plants, but it fits) when I feed the URB..I use it at about 75% of what they say and it does reduce the need for the Megacrop/PK boost. In flower, I find that a peak of 4.5-5 grams per gallon of water (soil) works well on most strains so far.

I also stopped using RO and went back to tap, so the need for Calcium is lower. NOTG Herculean Harvest is the source for Ca. that I use in flower. I also stopped feeding liquid kelp since megacrop also has that.
