Perfect time to start this thread as I am harvesting my 10th round in a living soil 4x4 and trying to decide what direction to go next! I built a twelve cob light back in 2019 for this tent with cxm22's. A few years ago I was growing Grape gallete from umami and Sour stomper auto from Mephisto outdoors. I enjoyed the smoke from both so much that I attempted to make my first seeds, picked my favorite male Grape gallete and pollinated my fav Sour stomper. Three generations later I am still growing this cross and haven't grown tired of it yet!

Todays harvest F3 day 68:

For the next round I have some old root-bound clones and started some Yellow haze seeds I was gifted from someone a LONG time ago. I had no hope these would germinate but they did, I have no info on these seeds or if they are "Yellow haze".

The seedlings got neglected a bit but seem like they will be just fine. Pretty strange lanky trichomes from one of the lower buds, half way through drying today. Have been amending the pot and getting ready to transplant the haze in. Gave everyone some corn sprouts tonight and got a bunch more soil together for the rest of the autos that aren't going to be in a tiny one gallon pot.

Been rehydrating some peat and inoculating biochar for a big soil batch for the 5 autos that are going outside. The rest of the 3 bears OG autos popped, I'll be getting those potted tomorrow. Was hoping to try the grove bags this time around, but they have been delayed for a week and only have a couple more days left before I start trimming. Managed to get out on the lake this morning and landed a nice bass and a sunburn.

Spent the weekend whipping up some yummy stuff with larf and trim: coconut oil & sugar. The oil is quite strong but the sugar is a nice strength for my better half!

Settled down from a hectic two weekends and gave the ladies some much needed tlc. The cover crop in the 100g was overgrown so I chopped it all up along with pruning and taking clones (on day 4 now in the pic) from the one re-vegged clone that has fully recovered and exploding with new growth. The other two are just starting to grow normal 5+ fingered leaves so I'll be taking clones from them once these clones are rooted.

The Yellow Haze are some interesting plants, I had to soak the pot both weekends as I was away for some days; so I don't know how much of this long internodal spacing is due to genetics or environmental stress (over-watering). Although, I have been pushing the light very hard as I noticed it early on, it hasn't seemed to help much at all. The largest most vigorous of the ten is starting to show sex and looks to be leaning towards male, I do plan on saving him and growing him out in a separate tent. A few of these ladies are throwing some massive thick/broad leaves, which looks kind of weird with the sativa looking internodal spacing. Going to be a very weird looking run with half the tent growing as a dense tight bush and the other half with long lanky plants, should be interesting. Excited to take lots of clones and see if this variety is worth keeping around.

I was having some nutrient deficiencies in the 100g after overwatering for two weeks during the holiday, manifesting as purple stems and yellowing leaves. After a nice dry back cycle the new growth is returning to solid green. The mothers are happy and didn't seem to mind the overwatering as much as the seedlings did, maybe due to the absence of deep tap roots?

The first round of clones from the fastest growing f3 mother have been transplanted into 6" pots and are sitting under a weak old burple led. The mom is growing so fast she's taking over the tent, think its going to be a weird looking run this time around. the other two mothers are healthy and exploding with growth and have also been added to the cloner. Took the first clones from the Yellow Haze male and chopped him down as he was the fastest growing, the female YH's will be cloned soon as well.

I usually use fresh aloe as a cloning gel, but tried soaking the clones in aloe water overnight this time. Don't know if its a good idea but saw someone doing it and plan to compare.

Happy growing!

Love a good organic grow. I dealing with a bit of over watering in my 4x4 bed. I’ve been letting it dry for the past two weeks.

A never ending battle in these big containers, I've thought about going automated but I would have nothing to do in there anymore. one of these days I'll grab those nice new ecowitt moisture meters.

Had to open to bags today and the smell was assaulting! Hard to describe with a lot going on, but I get a sharp fruity gas up front that almost burns. One of the Grove bag zippers is compromised, so def have to be very gentle opening these things. Other than that they have been just fine and emit no scent.

I put together a new light for a veg tent with some old led stuff I had. At 100% the multimeter reads 50.9V per led a total of 428W.
The 100g tent is overgrown to heck, waiting to free up the cloner before I start transitioning to flower. Moved the one-gallon competition pot under the new light, she was getting snuffed out!
