Any ideas as to why this formed the way that it did? The rest of the bud sites are spaced out more uniform and evenly

Looks like that branch mutated and almost looks like on the last pic it’s got a double head ; bad genetics or a simple mutation.
Tbh I wouldn’t stress about it.
The double looking head is funny I’ll be honest but nothing to stress about

Another dude was on here talking about them there called Triploid they stack closer and some make the caterpillar looking buds.

Gmix touched on it.

That bud looks like a localized mutation, chimera. Interesting. Keep it. A chimera is what gave rise to the grapefruit industry. A grower with a good eye for detail noticed on one branch on one orange tree a fruit that looked odd. It was a chimera of an orange. It is propagated vegetatively since it not breed true, Seeds.

This odd looking flower is unique, correct. Not all flowers look like the weird one.
