No i throw away the areas that have rot, you shouldnt smoke the soft mushy brown stuff its pretty gross even to touch, but you can break apart the buds and find areas that arent infected and wash them, which is what im currently about to try doing. If there is the start of bud rot on those areas the hydrogen peroxide "should" kill the fungus/bacteria to prevent it spreading during the drying phase, or at least thats how i understand it.

@growsince79 never smoke or try to clean rotten bud (I know you know that). The wash is not to remove mold and rot. It's to remove dirt and bug sh*t and stuff. If it was grown outside, it's dirtier than people think.

From what I understood the hydrogen peroxide is used more for PM than budrot. Since PM is on the outside and can be washed off, however budrot is inside the bud and there is no washing it off. I trash any buds I find with rot. The hydrogen peroxide wash might work by getting rid of any spores on uninfected areas however if you don't have good airflow in the drying area the extreme moisture and resulting high RH can lead to more rot. So be sure to have a fan blowing on the buds for a few hours after the wash and then after that aim it so it will keep the air moving around the room but no longer aimed dirrectly at the plants.
