I also have a lot of phenohunt seeds of mine. Some reg, some fem. These are not worked lines…more like calculated pollen chucks, and only some have been grown out. Laughing Amadeus and Arm Eater are my only current strains that have been carefully worked out. I can give more info on how I bred these if interested. I like to be transparent!

Oh Mann you are preaching! I’ve bought so many “high quality seeds “ for premium price 10-15 a seed and have gotten some very sad results whether it was inconsistency, larfy ass bud, or even little potency. And I think I’m a pretty good grower. But I can’t knock the seeds 100% I understand life factors and maybe the genetics were used to a particular technique and when trying something different maybe they don’t like it, idk but yeah I guess like the old saying … if you want something to your liking, gotta do it yourself lolRight on. Always nice to hear other people with breeding plans. I get sad when I see 10-20 dollars per seed for untested crosses. I look for quite a bit when breeding. I have a cross with HSCs Raspberry Parfait and a nice hunted Shiskaberry. There I was looking to match terps (I thought the parfait was great), but I needed better structure, branching and yield. All the RP I hunted were low yielders.
My biggest considerations are rapid, healthy growth, strong terps, potency, and dense flowers. Gotta be mindful not to accidentally breed for bad traits as well…I learned that with my first attempt haha. After that, plant structure and yield, but those are less important, since no one really breeds anything of mine commercially.
It’s cool you grow with your wife! My wife doesn’t partake, but she knows how to take care of our ladies. She took over for me for 3 months while I went through some nasty chemo. I’m good now…
Purple…like as in a fade? Or purple buds, not necessarily foliage? Or do you mean purple 1? I used to have a purple shaman from Dutch Passion. Crazy low yields, average potency, a bit larfy, but the buds were beautiful color. It didn’t last long as a mother, I think it may have been better suited for outdoors. I havent grown outdoors in a long, long time. That and bag appeal doesn’t do much for me if the bud isnt good medicine.
I love reg seeds. You’re right, way less problems with herm, but you still gotta be hella careful. That first screw up I mentioned…my very first cross used bag seed. I wound up turning a decent Mexican haze in to a true herm lol. Not little nanners…both male and female buds all over. What a mess. That’s when I decided to learn a bit before trying again.
Do you have certain strains, terps, highs that you like? I’m all over the place. I love the body stone and hybrid high of the Venom OG flower I have right now. But I also love hazes. The only herb Ive never really cared for are the dessert lines that don’t have enough terps. I like loud weed. That reminds me. I don’t mind long flowering strains, but I don’t breed hazes together…I figured no one else around me really likes those grows. I ran a couple of Sativas from Ace seed a last year. One took almost 16 weeks to finish. Not ideal for indoor, but I like a challenge!
I understand, I’ve been noticing typically more sativa dominant strains have those type of leaves that are easy to pull up and off, anything kush like or indica like typically I see more compact sugar leaves that take a little more work to get into. But fashoooo hand trimming all day, and hand trimming wet at that, I ain’t trying to break off any trichomes after drying lol lolSugar leaves are normal. I pull post by hand with no issue. I get it, unless you have the patience and time on hand of a shaolin monk, trimming is the worst part of the whole experience. I still refuse to machine trim, though. I don’t want to do all that work, put in all that care, just to get lazy at the end haha!
